Razzle Dazzle(closed)

in the room with the major entertainment center, little girls from three to eleven arranged themselves on the overstuffed furniture, with bowls of colored candy and popcorn all around the room. Sitting to one side, Dazzle had an amused look on her face as she occasionally directed traffic, intervened in squabbles, and caused minor spills to disappear.

"Now remember," she instructed the girls with a smile on her face, "At least try to be on your best behavior for Mr. Recall. It doesn't have to be all the time, but just occasionally." The last made all the girls roll in laughter.

He had found the boys room pretty easily and had handed over the movies to the oldest one in the room. He had then been swamped as they had all examined the titles and had oohhed and ahhed at them. They didn't have any of them and he was glad. He wasn't sure when he had thrown in the old Megamind one but it had superheroes and the baddy was the hero so he thought they may enjoy it.

They wanted him to join them but he begged off saying he would definitely watch a movie with them tomorrow but he had to go see Dazzle. They were bummed but as long as he promised they understood. To make up for it he spotted a huge old plastic container and a few other things. Using one of his powers he had soon built the kids a giant slushie machine and filled it with all of their coke. "Okay kids give that about fifteen minutes and you should have enough ice cold coke slushies to last the whole movie."

They were cheering as he left and made his way up to the girls room. Standing just outside he took a deep breath, knocked on the door and then walked in.

As soon as Recall walked into the room, he was ambushed.

By pillows. The first one caught him in the face. Several more hit his torso. Two materialized over his head and dropped down on him.

Dazzle and the girls were rolling with laughter. A three year old walked up to him and said with a toothy grin, "Remember, you can't hit girls back!" She then offered him a package of skittles as a gesture of truce.

Recall grimaced but accepted the skittles and lifted the little girl up and sat her on his shoulder. Then he stage whispered to her loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

"That is usually the case but do you know what Dazzle made me promise before she would allow me to come and watch the movie with you," he began sneakily grabbing a pillow from where it had landed next to his leg. "She said I was to behave exactly like one of the girls so I guess I should right?"

The young girl thought about it then smiled widely and nodded. Recall smiled back at her and ruffled her hair. "Okay then if you think so," he laughed and launched the pillow directly at Dazzles body.

The pillow disappeared a meter in front of Dazzle, then reappeared a meter behind Recall, its momentum making it impact against the back of his head. "Pfffft," she said with a laugh. "Amateur. Do you really want me to embarrass you in front of your fan base?"

"Anyway, we have to be careful not to touch Miss Dazzle," one of the older girls, an olive skinned eight year old piped up. The girl Recall was holding nodded solemnly in agreement.

The smile remained on Dazzle's face, but a sadness touched her eyes. "Not for throwing pillows, sillies. But it's probably a good idea to get settled in for the movie." Dazzle sent a small dazzle at the DVD player, and the big screen came to life, as all the girls got settled into their viewing places, dragging Recall into their midst, as Dazzle sat to one side.

Recall looked at her. He had seen the sadness and knew why she had made the rule. She did not want the kids to know that they could not touch her, so she made out that they were not allowed to touch her. Damn, she even played the baddie for the people she loved.

He wanted to go sit with her, but he was literally surrounded by small bodies. He had about five children sitting on him with another four snuggled up against him. He had just saved his arms from being sat on so he could actually eat and drink through the movie.

He looked over at Dazzle as the movie started and saw her trying to hide a smile. He mocked glared at her then smiled at her and sort of shrugged. Then he turned back to the movie. He hadn't lied to her, he was hooked on these movies now and he really wanted to see what happened in this one.

Dazzle never said anything to anyone, but she always wanted to be Tinker Bell, with her sparkles being her own pixie dust. And Recall had picked the right movie to let Dazzle forget that her powers separated her from everyone in the world. For almost two hours, Dazzle imagined herself as one of the fairies flying with Tinker Bell.

After the movie was over, Dazzle turned on the lights and said, "Okay, the lot of you need to go to your parents. It's a school day tomorrow, and you need to make sure you're ready for it." There were a lot of moans and whines, but the girls made their goodbyes to Recall before heading out the door.

"Well, you seem to be no worse for wear," she mused, looking him over. "A little glitter here, a smashed skittle there, but nothing major. Care to take a glass of lemon squash out on the veranda?"

Recall had been half watching the movie and half watching Dazzle and had caught the longing in her eyes as she watched it. Ahh so she did long to be a fairy then he grinned. He had picked the right movie, and maybe, just maybe, he could get her to do something with him afterwards.

When he received her invitation he smiled and nodded his head. "I would love that, but could we walk down together or you teleport us both. I am kind of tired being so far behind you." Actually now that he knew where everything was he could have used his enhanced speed to be only a few seconds behind her but he didn't want to remind her of that.

"Teleporting wouldn't be a good idea," she answered. "My past...associate had a rather unique nervous system that allowed him to endure the process. You on the other hand, would not enjoy the trip, and I've grown rather fond of you, at least to the point of not wanting to cause you unnecessary pain." Dazzle gave Recall a tired smile. "It's why I could never get my union card in the Supervillainess Guild. I'd say that physically, Wreckin' Tom is as tough as you, though he lacks your pizzazz," she giggled. "I teleported him out of the way one time, and he just crumpled over, screaming in pain. That's not something I'm ever going to repeat."

Recall smiled back at her. "Ah well then, thank you very much for the warning. I may be able to do something about that but let's leave that for emergencies shall we," he chuckled. "Very well I will meet you out on the veranda shortly. However are you okay to teleport when you are so tired?"

"The dazzles work on their own power source," Dazzle explained. "Beyond that, I really don't know how exactly they do the voodoo that I do so well," she chuckled. "I just have to have enough energy to focus on a location, and peek ahead. Like this." And with, Dazzle disappeared.

Recall smiled then walked to the door and zoomed off after her. He kept his speed down so that he left barely a thing out of place behind him. His wind buffer normally took care of most things anyway, but indoors he could create wind tunnels.

Barely five seconds later he opened the door out to the veranda. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long," he said smiling as he walked out.

"I could barely fight the boredom," Dazzle laughed as opened up a bottle of lemon squash and handed it to him. She looked out over the oceans and the water and sky darkened. "You know, I'm still not sure how this whole talking to the gem I swallowed thing is going to work."

Recall did have one idea but was very, very hesitant to suggest it. Oh well what the heck it may be the only way to get her started.

"Well I am afraid to bring this up, just because you might think I am setting you up, but I can sort of hypnotize you. Not full on bark like a dog hypnotize, all though that would be fun to do some day," he laughed, "No just put you in a sort of receptive state and then maybe guide you towards trying to talk to the jewel. You will still know what is going on and retain all memories of what happens. Think of it like dreaming while awake."

Dazzle arched an eyebrow and studied Recall silently. Finally, she replied quietly, "If it was anyone but you, you'd be a mile offshore right now, trying to keep your head above the waves and at the same screaming in pain." She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. "Fine. But if I'm putting myself in your hands, give me a first name to call you. Doesn't even have to be your real name. Just something."

Recall didn't even hesitate. "Fine. Then call me Jason. I have always liked that name. It can basically come from any English speaking country and from any part of the world."

He picked up his bottle and took a sip of his drink. "Look Lisa," he said deciding to use her real name now that she had one to call him, "You may not believe this but I really have no intentions of hurting you. Heck if you get to keep your dazzle powers and work together with whatever this jewel is I will be thrilled, so no messing around in your head from me."

Then he glanced over at her. "Well except for an uncontrollable urge to kiss me every time you see me of course," he chuckled.

Lisa's mouth dropped open. She closed it, looked about to say something, then closed it again. Finally, she just shook her head and laughed.

"Okay, Jason, make with the hypno stuff. But if I wake up wanting to turn in all my ill-gotten gains, you're going into the ocean," she chortled.

Jason smiled then laughed out loud. "Damn, you stumbled onto my plan. Oh well then I guess I will just have to play it straight then."

Getting up he finished off his drink then looked at her. "So where would you like to do this? You should be somewhere comfortable, so I would suggest either a couch or a bed. And no this is not my way of trying to wheedle my way into your room," he smiled at her.

"Out here is good. Hang on a second, let me get something from storage," she replied. Lisa wanted to make some sarcastic remark about he wouldn't appreciate the experience if he was successful, but the truth of the matter was, it was awkward to even joke about it.

In a flash of dazzles, a wicker couch with cushions appeared on the veranda. Lisa scooted it around so that it face the ocean. Sitting on one end, she asked, "Is this good...Jason?"

Jason smiled. "It is fine Lisa. Just lie down and get comfortable and we can begin."

He waited until she had settled in then sat beside her and gently began to massage her temples and whisper too her. "Just let yourself relax, and start to drift off. Let your body go limp and and just concentrate on feeling totally relaxed and calm."

Lisa felt herself floating away in a light haze when a thought began floating up to the top of her mind.

Jason was rubbing her temples! He was touching her!

"Wait! Whoa! Stop!" she said, standing up and backing away from him. Her dazzles immediately spring around her. "How are you doing that?"

She was fully alert now, and more than a little alarmed.

Jason sighed. He had hoped she wouldn't have noticed that.

"Remember that power I used before, well I am using it again. I need to because it is part of the technique. You do know you were almost there don't you and I was about to begin. Now I have to start all over again."

He grimaced as he looked at her. "You know I don't really have an infinite storage of powers that allow me to touch you right? If we are really going to do this you have to get over this fear of someone touching you and just let me do this."

"See, you say that as if it's the easiest thing in the world, and it's not," Lisa said, turning her back on Jason in exasperation.

"You know, you're not the first person I've ever faced who could turn them off," Lisa continued, turning back around. She held out a hand, where a small sphere of dazzles was dancing in her palm. "And those people weren't like you. Their power to do that didn't have a time limit. And the dazzles have always found a way around it. Not me. The dazzles. Okay, maybe me and the dazzles. I don't know." Lisa lowered her hand, and the dazzles disappeared. "The point is, you've only been thinking about this for a little while. I've lived it, Jason. I've lived it every waking and sleeping moment. So maybe you've got a plan in your head, and got it all worked out, but the next thing I know, you're on the ground in pain. So whatever plan you got, make it one that doesn't involve trying to touch me. Because I like you, Jason," Lisa said, her heart and soul in her eyes. "I really, really like you. And I'm not going to take that chance with someone I like this much."

Jason was stunned. She liked him, she really did. He was all giddy for a second, like a schoolboy who has just found out that his crush likes him to, then he shook his head a little and tried to calm down.

"Okay Lisa, I know a few other ways, but they are not quite as good but we can try them. Oh and for the record I ahh..umm...really like you too," he said blushing. "It's part of the reason I want to help you. I mean because I like you not to deactivate your Dazzle field so I can touch you any time I want I mean. Ahh that didn't come out right, maybe I should just shut up now..." he trailed off.

Taking a deep breath he gestured back towards the chair. "Okay I need you to get comfortable again, and we can give this another shot, and no touching this time I promise," he said holding his hand up with his palm out.

Lisa giggled, finding Jason's boyish befuddlement rather cute. It was even funnier, she wryly mused, because circumstances almost guaranteed that Jason undoubtedly had more experience than she did. Yet somehow, she almost felt like she was the one vamping the innocent.

Settling down on the wicker couch, she added with a saucy wink, "Of course, if you're just trying to get me out of my clothes, all you have to do is ask." She giggled as she closed her eyes and got comfortable.
