Recall The Untouchable Hero Of The Democrat Party

The gas lines were a matter of limited supply, not pricing.
Limited supply was the result of the Iranian Oil Boycott. This was caused by the Iranian Revolution of 1979. This in turn was caused by efforts by MI6, the CIA, and the Iranian military to return the Shah of Iran as an absolute monarch.

Without price controls gasoline would have been more expensive.
Sure, price controls kept gas "affordable," right up until it disappeared from the market. It’s like saying rent control keeps housing cheap: it does, for the lucky few who get it, while everyone else is left with a shortage, deteriorating supply, or nothing at all. In 1979, Americans learned the hard way that low prices mean nothing if there's no product to buy. Price controls distort the market, they discourage production, trigger hoarding, and lead to shortages and rationing.

Did that happen when Nixon imposed a 90-day price freeze?

You folks are forgetting history. The gas lines were in 1973 due to the OPEC oil embargo over the US support for Israel in the Yom Kippur War.

I remember because I was stuck with my parents in our VW Beetle.

The gasoline line returned after the Iranian Revolution in 1979, for reasons I explained.

MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia was earning $100,000 a year in order to smuggle people around the United States, according to witnesses who have been cooperating with the federal government on Abrego Garcia's human smuggling case.

The New York Post reported that the witnesses, as well as co-conspirators who have been involved with the federal government on the case, have said Abrego Garcia would make around $1,500 for each smuggling trip he took, including the transportation of minors around the US. This reportedly equated to over $100,000 per year for Abrego Garcia.

The case against the gang member was launched after the Department of Justice had Abrego Garcia returned to the United States in order to carry out the human smuggling case against him.

"On May 21, a grand jury in the Middle District of Tennessee returned a sealed indictment charging Abrego Garcia with alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit alien smuggling in violation of Title 8, USC, 1324," Attorney General Pam Bondi said at the time.

Federal judge rules Kilmar Abrego Garcia can’t be re-detained by immigration authorities
The government “made one empty threat after another to remove him to countries in Africa with no real chance of success,” U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis, in Maryland, wrote in her Tuesday order. “From this, the Court easily concludes that there is no ‘good reason to believe’ removal is likely in the reasonably foreseeable future.”

Abrego Garcia has an American wife and child and has lived in Maryland for years, but he immigrated to the U.S. illegally as a teenager. In 2019, an immigration judge ruled that he could not be deported to El Salvador because he faced danger there from a gang that had threatened his family. By mistake, he was deported there anyway last year.

Facing public pressure and a court order, President Trump’s administration brought him back in June, but only after securing an indictment charging him with human smuggling in Tennessee. He has pleaded not guilty. Meanwhile, Trump officials have said he cannot stay in the U.S. In court filings, officials have said they intended to deport him to Uganda, Eswatini, Ghana, and Liberia.

In her Tuesday order, Xinis noted the government has “purposely—and for no reason—ignored the one country that has consistently offered to accept Abrego Garcia as a refugee, and to which he agrees to go.” That country is Costa Rica.

She will be overruled. She's a revolutionary leftist trying to bring down the system. She has no jurisdiction to do what she's doing. Her job, as she sees it, is to subvert the government. She should be arrested and charged with obstruction. She isn't the President, and she has no power to manage the federal government. Trump should ignore her order.

The amount of money, time and resources spent on Garcia continues to be astounding.

All because of incompetence.

No lawyer could never make a case for any of that nonsense that a Trump-appointed judge would not laugh out of court.
