Is there anyway to restore something from the recycle bin once you have emptied it?

I accidentally sent the wrong file to the bin then STUPIDLY emptied it right away...UGH!

I don't know of a way to do it, but I googled "restore files from recycle bin" and it pulled it some things that might help. It appears you'll need a program to do this for you.

(there are other helpful pages listed if you want to do the google search yourself as well)

Yep you can get it back

This program is free. Better if you can save it on, and install it on, a different disk or drive from the one with your deleted file on it.

undelete

Good luck

First off what windows system are you running?

98SE has two recycle folders. Gone is not always gone!

Do you have Xp with a restore point?

A restore point only goes back to a different system state. unless a system file was deleted the lost file is still lost. she needs an undelete program and she has to get to the data before it gets overwritten.

Norton Utilities has a protection option so that you can get anything back you accidentally delete. Also, make sure you back your files up on an outside disk. It never hurts to have an extra copy. :)
