He was practically tongue tied, but quickly recovered and proceeded to tell me all about how his wife had red hair similar to mine when she was younger. Now it is gray he said, but she is getting it close to the original color with dye (for those that don't know it's actually really difficult to get red hair dye right). He just went on and on while he was looking for cavities...it was a little creepy at first but then was just too cute!

That's cool, fire_angel! I had something similar happen to me, although it wasn't my dentist. I was walking to the store, and as I was checking traffic to cross the road, the guy who was going to be turning in front of me rolled down the passenger window to tell me that his late mother's hair color had been the same as mine. He then thanked me for the smile that he knew would be with him all day.
