Indiana’s Republican-led Senate decisively rejected a redrawn congressional map Thursday that would have favored their party, defying months of pressure from President Donald Trump and delivering a stark setback to the White House ahead of next year’s midterm elections.
The vote was overwhelmingly against the proposed redistricting, with more Republicans opposing than supporting the measure, signaling the limits of Trump’s influence even in one of the country’s most conservative states.
Antifa. How can this be happening, I've been assured by the left that Trump is a fascist and fascists would never allow this sort of thing.
So, how?

Trump has been urging Republicans nationwide to redraw their congressional maps in an unusual campaign to help the party maintain its thin majority in the House of Representatives. Although Texas, Missouri, Ohio and North Carolina went along, Indiana did not — despite cajoling and insults from the president and the possibility of primary challenges.
“The federal government should not dictate by threat or other means what should happen in our states,” said Spencer Deery, one of the Republican senators who voted no on Thursday.
Why can't we just redistrict like Canada does? They leave it to a nonpartisan panel of civil servants
I once collected petition signatures for a ballot initiative to change over to that system in Florida -- but the state supreme court, in a decision that made no sense at all unless explained in partisan terms (that is, in bipartisan terms -- neither Rs nor Ds wanted to give up their legislative redistricting power), kept it off the ballot.7 states have independent commissions for redistricting.
We have that here in Washington but nobody is really nonpartisan. So we have a panel of I think 7 but don’t quote me on exact number. So it’s 3 dems and 3 republicans but you have to have an odd number in case a tie needs to be broken. So they rotate which side gets a 4th member. Generally means you end up with a partisan decision anyway. Why can't we just redistrict like Canada does? They leave it to a nonpartisan panel of civil servants
The Missouri Constitution gives voters the power to veto acts of the legislature by gathering signatures and putting a referendum measure on the ballot. Last week, advocacy group People Not Politicians submitted more than 300,000 signatures – far more than the number required — to the state. Now, the map should be paused until Missourians have the opportunity to vote on the gerrymander, they say.
But Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins claimed the map won’t be paused until after the signatures are verified – a significant delay tactic that, if successful, would likely allow Republicans to run the 2026 election using the new map.
Mike Wolff, a former Missouri Supreme Court justice, said case law is on the side of referendum organizers and clearly states the map should be paused now. He cited court precedent going back to 1914 – shortly after the referendum provision was added to the Missouri Constitution – stating that legislation is paused when enough signatures have been submitted.
This is the kind of fight where you can honestly tell the Pubs, "YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS EVEN FIGHTING BACK HERE. It's a cops-and-robbers situation and you AIN'T the cops!"Utah Republicans are desperately trying to force a gerrymandered voting map on the state.
Utah GOP asks state Supreme Court to revive blocked congressional gerrymander
Hopefully the court will uphold the voters’ decision to ban gerrymandering in the state.
- Utah voters passed the anti-gerrymandering Proposition 4 in 2018.
- In 2020, Republicans carved up left-leaning Salt Lake City into four voting districts to nullify Democrats’ votes.
- This year a state judge struck down the obviously gerrymandered voting map.
- The judge rejected a revised map from the Republicans and adopted a remedial plan put forward by the anti-gerrymandering plaintiffs.
- The Republicans appealed the judge’s decision.
- The Utah Supreme Court will consider the appeal.
I was with David McIntosh of the Club for Growth, and we agreed that we will both work tirelessly together to take out Indiana Senate Majority Leader Rod Bray, a total RINO, who betrayed the Republican Party, the President of the United States, and everyone else who wants to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! We’re after you Bray, like no one has ever come after you before!
Not only did the Supreme Partisan Court gut the Voting Rights Act, but they moved quickly to enable states to disenfranchise black voters by allowing redistricting even though voting had already begun in primaries.
These same Partisan Justices blocked redistricting in two previous cases because it was “too close to the election”. Those examples were in December and February (and those examples would have helped Democrats).
It turns out that redistricting is allowed close to an election, if it disadvantages black voters and Democrats.
The Justices aren’t even bothering to disguise their partisan bias. The law and their own precedents have no meaning to them.
Meanwhile, Virginia State Senate President Pro Tem, Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth) might've fucked around and found out so BIGLY.
While we await the full facts of the investigation, it must be acknowledged that this FBI raid occurs in the broader context of President Trump’s repeated abuse of the Department of Justice to target his perceived political opponents. It should be noted that this is occurring just two weeks after Senator Lucas helped lead the successful effort by Virginia voters to reject President Trump’s attempt to rig the midterm elections.
How was Fox News, a national media outlet, first on the scene? Did they know about the raid beforehand? If so, who approved that?
