reflections on a bad start

Anyone with the balls to admit to a bad start and take a few steps back before striking out again down a slightly different path has earned a second look from me.

Personal courage, as illustrated by an ability to admit error and then carry on with one's head held high, is an exceedingly underrated attribute of most interesting people.

Welcome to Lit, tmuyo.

Takes a very big man with lots of balls to admit to any wrongdoing, whether it's right or not. I think that if we can learn to tolerate or outright ignore rude nasty ass bitch and her constant and irretrievably irritating capitalizations, we can deal with your non-capitalizations, though it does much the clarity a bit. It's actually about clarity, not individual expression. We have adverbs for that. :)

At least you're not stuck on the all caps key.

And at least you're not stuck on the idea that "they don't like me, therefore they're oppressive, conformist sheep with no opinions beyond those of Madison Avenue" rather than "they don't like me, must be something I said."

You're good people tenchi. Don't forget to come back sometime after your girlfriend gets here.

won't argue that one...but i think tmuyo has a good heart and that should count for something...with age comes wisdom and he's learning

there are a lot of professional writers here...I think that's absolutely wonderful...but many of us are not...we're here to simple have fun, share ideas, and learn about each other...

we don't mean any insult by our style...sorry gang i really don't have the right to speak for anyone but myself. i don't mean any insult by my style...i 'm just a really bad typist... it takes everything i have to just post a idea...with out worrying over much about technic...so i hope you'll "listen " to what i'm saying and please don't worry so much about how i say it...

C'mon, KillerMuffin, Tell Us What Really Annoys You??:p

faith, no one here will really judge you on your grammar or spelling unless you're so unpleasant that you force us to notice it in the process of blasting you for other things.

And the BB really doesn't boast many professional writers, either, though many of us do have stories/poems posted at Lit, that is true.

May i offer you two very simple suggestions for improving your BB communications, if you're interested?

1. Say one thing - one thought, one idea.
2. Put a period after the conclusion of that one thought.
3. Capitalize the beginning of your next thought.

These simple little suggestions will help you communicate your thoughts and ideas, all of which seem eminently worth communicating, imo, to all of the rest of us in a more coherent and understandable fashion.

Please feel free to ignore my advice if you don't like it.
I won't be offended.

He's a bad, bad man

no cym that was good advice and should be adhered to or else you would just have one very long and difficult posting to read whereas by folllowing your suggestion there would be pauses where the reader could actually take a breath before continuing on with the one long and seemingly interminable post something most of us try and avoid because it is very confusing when the post just goes on and on with no end in sight and you just keep reading and reading til you finally get fed up and then you decide that the right thing to do is just to stop reading it so you do:p

Now I know how all those Brits feel complaining about the Americanization of their beloved English language. ;)

Cheyenne - I don't think I've 'spoken' to you often enough recently, but I always look for your posts. This and another I read tonight had me laughing my arse off, thanks :D.

TMUYO :)p), yes I think I kinda do get on with you, especially when you bring the beer. But man, those posts are hard to read. Just my opinion.

..in light of my own infamous start here; i am a fan of anyone who can enjoy the moment and not hold themselves to any standards as in the manner of board ettiquette and community standards that do squash individuality and reduces people to either 'in' or asshole.......

as such tmuyo i am glad that you are here: your flaws mean nothing more than a willingness to explore what is beyond the lines - as proven in the fields of art (see picasso....): music (see the dj nation.....): literature (see such comics as garth ennis' preacher or grant morrison's the invisibles....): and film (see the use of theories in information as used by the pnader brothers in the movie the matrix.....)

it is my deepest conviction that the mainstream is an inactive proposition waiting to latch on to the next 'cool' trend and then claims originality......

how original can a culture be when everyone is wearing gap gear.....

So your not leaving? :) I hope not.

Mensa, the thing that really annoys me is those stupid frogs with the tongue thing happening. I mean really. Miss Piggy about cleaned my clock last time I chased her Kermie.

Me Fish Moo. Me of Clan of Siren. Me embracing Tim Moo as brother. Me bowing before the gracious Siren, and offering chocolates and tit massages.

AHHHH! Cheyenne, our much-loved, adorable, pedantic princess!:p
Pedantic Princess? hehe

I've been called a lot of things in my life. Trust me, Princess has never been one of them.

Sorry, tmuyo, but I like you. Even Juspar is starting to take a liking to you. Now don't you worry about people being pissy to you, they're all pissy to me, too, at times. Fuck 'em all! ;) Stick around, you're loved.

I like you too tmuyo. You need to be less sensitive. If you're willing to stick your neck out and state your opinions, you have to realize that you run the risk of rubbing someone the wrong way. He, in turn, may say something in response that rubs YOU the wrong way. And so on. That's life. You have the right to express yourself, but others also have the right to express their opinions on what you have to say. If you don't like conflict, you could never say anything controversial, but how interesting would that be? ;)Speak your mind, duck the blows, and move on.

Hiya, Jusper! *big wave*

Glad you liked it. I figured pp_man would be the one to comment on it though! :)

Now I'm wondering which was the other post that made you laugh....

You know, you people are all starting to know me WAY too well. The bb life is starting to match my RL! I've been called a smart ass once or twice, somewhere along the way. ;)

then you really didn't mean to apologize for your chatlike ways if you think a post like this is perfectly acceptable did you? for shame leading us on like that with a lie.

:p

cheyenne, my humor isn't THAT subtle...

it was this post i busted you on. tsk, tsk, tsk, after you bust me for not using the shift key and discrediting my apology, you yourself were not using the shift key...

that's why you've been busted, lol :D

Hey, Tenchi, I know where you lost the remote. Now use the shift key at least once or you're stuck with Entertainment Tonight. Maybe John Tesh will sing.

*grins evilly*

Okay, I guess my humor IS that subtle. Let me spell it out sloooooowly for you. And pay attention here, because I'm only going to do it once. Are you listening to me? Good.

I posted that way ON PURPOSE to MAKE FUN OF YOUR STYLE!! Read what it actually says about posting "this way." THIS WAY meaning without the proper punctuation. Get it? It was meant to be funny as it was done exactly in your style!

Yeesh. A joke isn't funny anymore when you have to explain it to the victim.

You're kidding, I hope. Either that or my humor is more subtle than I thought.

See, for further explanation, I posted the above because I was sure you were joking. I was sure that you really understood that I had copied your style. I didn't think MY humor was too subtle for YOU. But I guess it was, afterall.:p
