The fascinating thing is that if we are asked to describe our ideal partner we will tend to come out with a list of 'conventionally-attractive' features. Asked to describe the feature that appeals most to us about an actual partner, we are quite likely to mention something that is not generally seen as 'perfect'.
I'm just going back, exploring the beginnings of this favorite thread, and I saw this. What fascinated me (maybe I'm misinterpreting) about this statement is that, asked to describe my ideal partner, it wouldn't even occur to me to focus on looks.

That said, and to the last part of your statement, I agree. It seems to me that visually, I've always been attracted to the “conventionally imperfect.”

Sorry for love-bombing this thread, but it sure has been fun to go back to the beginning and start there. I'm going to continue over time till I've seen it all.
