My wife is Filipina who grew up in the Philippines but migrated here to the US after graduating college. She and her entire family are good souls and God loving and God fearing individuals. All hard workers who have fabulous souls.

About your great country, I say a little of what I see or hear.

First, many house maids in Hong Kong from the Philippines are found sitting on mattress or plastic cloth in large group in any open space by the roadside to have fun during days off, as if there was no other people around. I saw such a phenomenon in person more than a decade ago and on videos not long ago.

Second, the last president Mr. Aquino the Third canceled suddenly his planned attendance to the China-ASEAN Expo annually held in Nanning, China, after saying a few unfriendly words about the disputed sea area between China and the Philippines that he believed must get him in great trouble if he was in China.

Third, in 2009 a group of Hong Kong tourists were held hostages in a coach in Manila by an angry Filipino retired police officer who requested his pension be unchanged. Seen through livestreaming, the national anti-terrorist forces showed their incompetence and inexperience before the whole world.

Fourth, I have known some Filipino friends who stay in China and who are very talented and friendly. They even try to get my advice on buying home in my city when the price now is falling. But I am not an expert in this regard, so I tell them to play by ear.
