I just have to say it...

True and total happiness does come from a place within yourself, but the ppl and things around you do have a great affect on it. You may not want to go out and commit sucicide or something if your dog dies, but you sure won't be happy...

We all go through periods of sadness because of the things that go on around us. So happiness is not a thing that you can really control... at least for me it isn't...
