Professionally, I had/have a much larger ego than I thought I did. When they call me back to contract only a few weeks after I retired, I assumed they wanted and needed ME - personally. But no. They simply needed "meat with hands" and anyone meeting that criteria would be acceptable. I just required no training and, thus, became "easier" for them. When the world at work kept humming along after I retired I should have recognized my true value to the company.
