Revenge: Forgiveness or Indifference, which is best?

Living well is the best revenge.

Revenge is karma's department and anyone who doesn't believe in karma, simply hasn't been paying attention.

Just because you forgive someone doesn't mean you take them back into your life ("fool me once...). Forgiveness isn't about letting them off the hook, it's about letting it go so you can move on and live a life not consumed by hatred, loathing, jealousy, envy, etc.

And if someday in the future you learn they died in a hideous car wreck, sure, take five minutes of pleasure in rejoicing over there new eternal life in hell, but then find it in your heart again to forgive.

What they said.

The reason why I feel it's better to forgive is because it's harmful for YOU if you don't. Holding on to all of that hate, loathing, etc. is just going to drag you down and make you bitter. It's wasted time and energy and will only distract you from the new future and opportunities before you, so better to just let go and move on to bigger better things.

I suppose, in that way, forgiveness as I see it could be kind of similar to the way you described indifference.

I don't do revenge. I can forgive. I don't always. Sometimes I exhibit indifference. Depends on the situation.
