Merry Christmas

Turk, it's a wonderful life. Make it an early night and spend time with family. I'm about to do the same. My son gets of work in a couple hours and we'll have a late feed and festivities.

I was raised in the tradition of giving gifts on Christmas morning but since my son inherited my ex wife's lack of a sense of delayed gratification, I'll give him his gift this evening. No harm in a little indulgence.

I hope everybody gets a little indulging in this holiday.

It sounds like you had a good holiday. Ours was the nicest in many years. Mac and I had the day to ourselves, I made a nice Christmas dinner, set the table with the festive plates and linen, and we dined. It was lovely. *sigh*

*steps back to look at the decorated palm, hangs an ornament shaped like a martini glass, and gives the whole thing a final nod. *

The tree is done, start putting out the food Turk.

What do you think Subo, looks a little like the old days. All we need now is Chanaud, or Star, or any of the other Rooftop gang. Maybe Ari will show up.

Friday follies

Turk, that's one fine looking palm tree.

It's a warm and wonderful day here in Florida. I got up and into my tree stand before dawn today but saw no deer. It was a delightful way to start the day anyway. I did run across about a 4 ft water moccasin after lunch. He was not intimidated by me at all, flaring his white mouth open. I was wearing snake boots but sure didn't want to test them out, lol. Like Luca Brazzi, he now sleeps with the fishes.


LadyKit, I'm always on the lookout for the old gang. In all humility, the finest writers Lit ever had traipsed through Rick's. (and we sure could throw a party, hehe)

DM, thanks for enticing me back to writing. Let's call in a Renaissance.

Subo, I agree, some of the best writers on Lit have sat at the bar at Ricks...a notable few have awakened behind the bar after a particularly good party.

Ohio was cold and wet today, emphasis on the wet part. During the worst of the downpour and in the midst of the thunder and lightening...yes december thunder...the only thing I could do was feel greatful that it was rain, not snow.

*dips a hand into the slow moving water in the hot tub, then smiles softyly*

Turk, the ususal, if you please. And bring it to the hot tub? I think I'll have a soak and do some stargazing.

Memorable Monday

Turk, free drinks for everyone. Today is my favorite day of all time. 29 years ago this evening my son was born. He's grown up to be a fine young man who makes me proud. I hope you all will forgive me if I strut a bit. He's probably the best thing on my resume'.

lady Kit, I'm jealous. I love thunderstorms! They stir me in so many ways. Some of my favorite afternoons have been spent with the sound of thunder in the background.

It’s New Year’s Eve and the snow is drifting by my widow, the moon peeks from behind the thinning clouds and the wind blows the freshly fallen snow into pirouetting little whirl winds. The year a little longer than the last. It would be so easy to reflect back on all the sad and hard times the Year nearly spent has brought yet as I look around, I see friends near and far. The shared smiles, giggles and jokes come to mind as well as softer more tender moments spent. So despite it all it has been a good year so I raise my glass in fellowship and good cheer.
