Everyday rituals of mine?

Hmmm, well I always wake up to the local talk radio station. Usually I get so worked up over what one particular commentator says, it gets me out of bed quickly. After that I walk to work, usually with the MP3 player and just listen to some classical tunes before I get to work. Usually to unwind I sing in the bath/shower. Before bed I usually pray (unless REALLY tired or busy with someone) and start the next day's rituals all over again.

I first tried the game when I was in college (1974) and was very much into it in the late 90's to the early 00's. The last couple of years I haven't played so much.

Thank you Raven now I can wonder off and play in the sandbox again 74 ouch still before I was born. My real dad and step mom are so bad they take trips to areas not just for the golf but that is a huge part of it. They visited Madam Rebecca home and I bet they did not wonder to the beaches or like your profile says scuba dived or just visited the outback. I would venture most of the time was spent on the golf course with some siteseeing squeezed in there somewhere.

Hmm, rituals...

I -need- to take at least five minutes every day and write email to C. Even if I don't have anything from him that day, or if I haven't got much to report, I just have to tell him about my day. It makes it feel like it hasn't been two months since I last saw him, and another three before I'll see him again.

I need my smoke-and-a-book time before I start my work shift. If something goes wrong and I don't get it, my entire day is off. This makes it very hard when I'm trying to cut back on my smokes.

I need my walk at night. It's not a long walk, and it's not terribly aerobic, but it gets me out of a very loud house and lets me think, just listening to my iPod and sorting thoughts out in my head.

I usually enjoy burning candles or incense, but I'm not able to at this time, living in a house with the rest of my family. They all have allergies and are sensitive to smoke and smells; my mom has a very few candles she burns on rare occasions, but usually my dad is nowhere to be found when she does. They bother him.

When I get my own place, I'll probably have a dozen new rituals I'll get myself into.

Not so much daily rituals but random activities to fight insanity or at least keep my life in some semblance of order.

Buying a new journal or notebook when I start a project

Putting a sign in my car window that reads "Smile if you're not wearing underwear" when traffic becomes a complete standstill.

Listening to latin guitar music when I feel seductive and fiery.

Hording Beeman's chewing gum when I find it.

And not answering my phone until I've had that first cup of tea, regardless.

About twice a month I head to Point Mugu and sit and watch the ocean waves pound and crash against the rocks.

I enjoy cooking and baking.

Getting emersed into a video game - Like God of War.

Enjoy watching the humming birds out the window next to my computer where I work.

When I have time I love to write.

Golf is relaxing

Picking lemons off my lemon tree and making myself a cold glass of lemonaide on a hot day.

And the list wouldn't be complete unless I mentioned my shower head massager...

Its a lot of fun. You usually get three responses from people. Either a sour faced indignant look like you just killed a baby seal with your car, or a disdainful "you are so immature" scowl. To quote Lenny Bruce "Fuck them if they can't take a joke".

My favorite is #3, the small smile, then they realize they are smiling and there fore confessing their lack of knickers and then a outright blush or laughter.

A friend and I nhad to drive back from Florida to Atlanta so we put the sign up and had a blast honking and waving to people.

Serious Comfort Ritual: Letting the dog sleep on the bed

This is not something that I ordinarily do. She is not a small dog. She does not share space well. She snores. She barks in her sleep. I don't like for the bed to smell of dog which is unavoidable if you let your dog sleep on the bed with any regularity, but sometimes it's necessary. She has the occasional nightmare, you understand.
