Romance vs. Raunch

coolness

Clouds drift to obscure the moon. The breeze becomes blustry. A slight chill is carried into our cozy paradise. Tembles transform to shivers.

A gentle breeze glides across the glade. The face of the moon stares upon our naked bodies. Somewhere off in the night, nocturnal birds provide a sensual seranade.

Oblivious to naught but you, all else goes unnoticed. I kiss your eyes, your cheeks, your neck. My hands and lips exploring. Loving the feel of your trembling beneath my fingertips.

Closing my eyes as you kiss them, sighing at the feel of you lips. wanting more not sure what more is. Enjoying the heat radiating from your body.Moving my hand down to grasp your waist, looking for something to hold onto. Laying back, looking up at you.

WOOHOO! 500

Hey bash, just wanted to stop bye for some hugs and kisses.......finally hit 500 darlin' :)

Couldn't think of anywhere else I would rather celebrate this than here with you :kiss:es my friend

Pressing against you. My desire obvious, firm, demanding. Enjoying the feel of your legs wrapped around mine. Your hips move beneath me. Demanding more.

And now...

we return to our regularly scheduled broadcast.

Here is a question:

Is the notion of unrequited love viable? If so, is it romanticism, tragedy, or both? Can tragedy be romantic (e.g. Romeo & Juliet)?

Of course it is viable. Meaning that when one loves another and that love is not returned. Case of Romeo & Juliet was not unrequited love and the only tragedy in that story is the fact that the two were still but kids. Believing as all teenagers do that if they can't be with that one person, they will die. If they had not taken their own lives they would have realized love comes in many forms, and some of us fall in love more times than others.

I don't think that unrequited love is romantic or a tragedy. Its more of a heartache for one.

To me unrequited love is only romantic in movies and books....there is nothing vaguely romantic about a person's heart being broken. As a victim of it I know the anguish one goes through....why doesn't he care? Am I not pretty or smart enough? Did I say or do something wrong? The self doubt for me was the worst part....but a tragedy? Not that either , just a part of life. Just my humble opinion for what it's worth.

oops. Guess I should have said three questions. Thanks for your input, Rosy. I agree that unrequited love is viable, but I am not so certain of viewing it as romantic. And if it is romantic, then it is romantic tragedy. And I am not so certain that I can believe in romantic tragedy. Romeo and Juliet were not unrequited love. I aggree with your assessment. However, I would add that the tragedy was also in the fact that they could not be together and they died. I prefer to think of romance in terms of positive, happy, contentment. A sigh of pleasure rather than tears of tragedy.

Interesting note you made as well: "...some of us fall in love more times than others" Perhaps we should ask "What is Love?" It is my understanding that the Greeks actually had 7 different words for love. Each with a separate meaning.

Good afternoon, cookie. Thanks for posting here. and I certainly agree with you. and I find it difficult to believe, ma'am that someone wouldn't return your affections.

Just so everyone who was enjoying the story between Bash and I we will not be continuing.

Seems to me that romantic (individuals) are probably more prone to unrequited love than others...'wearing our hearts on our sleeves' so to speak...but that doesn't make unrequited love itself romantic. It does have a parallel, I believe, in 'unrequited romance,' where someone offers a romantic gesture only to have it ignored or belittled.

And unrequited love in and of itself is not necessarily tragic--but its consequences certainly can be (for the unrequited and/or the object of affection).

So what do folks think about 'unrequited raunch?'

:p

BTW, there's an interesting and somewhat parallel thread going on in another part of the board on the distinction between 'erotica' and 'pornography.'

http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=127269

Is erotica always romantic? And is pornography always raunchy?

Roman

Well since I don't think erotica falls into the category of romantic, I would have to say no.

Pornography raunchy? well it sure isn't romantic, but I don't think all pornography is sleazy either.

heard a rumour that someone thinks this thread is dying..!!!!!

utter shock.....

romance....
I have had a glimpse...brief and flitting
of romance....
it scare touched my fingertips..........little grey fog like and then

went away....

I just wanted to say Hi to my dear Bash...

... and think that I still believe in romance, quite a bit actually. Was just reading a true stories thing about romantic things a guy has done. One girl was telling this guy friend of hers that she wanted a guy who'd bring her flowers every once in a while. The next day, he came over, dressed up... she opened the door to the car and there were roses on the seat... he said "I'd like to be that guy."

Now, if that isn't romance... Phew... I'm sure this isn't the original intent of the thread... but that struck a chord with me... may have to work that into some of my writing....
