They say the hardest part is the beginning...

The sky was on fire. She could feel the heat that the sky was giving off. "Oh god now what have we done?" She asked herself as she sat down on the floor of the basement she was in. Her legs were feeling weak and couldn't support her weight anymore. Looking around, looking through all the stuff that was put down here and forgotten, looking for something she could use. "Come on, I know there must be a flashlight down here somewhere." she said outloud to no one in paticular. The basement lit by a dim light bulb wasn't going to last forever and she had to conserve her time with it.
Opening a box, she rummages through it and stops as she moves a box off something inside. "Yes!" she exlaimed as she took the package out of the box.
It was a brand new flashlight with batteries already included.
"I never thought I'd say this, but thank you Grandpa for being such a worrier." she whispered to herself as she tore open the package and put the batteries inside the old 21st century police like flashlight.
Crossing her fingers, she pushed up the button on the flashlight with her thumb and she had light!
Standing up slowly she reaches up to the cord and turns off the light bulb that she was using and sits back down.
"Now I just have to wait out this next round of bombings and figure out what to do after that." She thought to herself as she switched off the flashlight. Leaning her back against the wall and just resting, saving her strength for when she will need it.
