Rough Diamond

Molly looked around before pointing. "That way," she stated proudly. She was a living humanized compass. She froze, her face taking on many expressions as she processed with what he continued to say. "I, sir, am a lady at heart. And I won't be wearing no dresses or skirts, ya hear? That'll happen over my stone, cold, dead body!"

'well lets hope I never see you in a dress!'

I followed - leading the horse until we found the railroad track 'OK - West now and watch for trains!'

Molly was about to shake her head, before her eyes opening, "That was mean, Cole." She referred the the dress comment. "I mean, I know I'm not that good looking, but you didn't have to say that."

Women, right?

"It's pretty hard to miss a train, isn't it?"

'hey if theonly dress you'll wear is in a coffin - I don't want to see it - but I think you'll look good in one.'

Molly stuck her tongue out. "I never wore a dress. Not even as a baby. It was pants and shirts fer me. Then again... I wonder why I was never given a dress. Ack, whatever. I'm not going to start breaking a habit of a lifetime."

Molly would not rise to the taunt. "Oh, no you don't. My sister tried to get me into a dress and failed, and so shall you! Besides, there's never anything in my size, anyway!"

I smiled - I guessed she'd be impressed by the city then!

We walked 2 days - camping at night, the pain in my leg causing deep sleep and discomfort, but finally we spotted a town - with a telegraph and a station.

'Theres town Molly - don't know about you but I could use a couple of days rest in the saloon'

Molly looked wide eyed at everything. "Okay, you go rest and I'll explore the city!" she exclaimed, not being patient. "I'll be back before sundown." She gave him some cash. "Get us a room and I'll tell you what I see."

Unfortunately, we all know how Molly and trouble get along so well.

The room was comfortable - a bed and a couch - I set myself up on the couch and settled down to sleep

Molly wandered through the streets, her eyes never stopping. She stopped in front of a store, seeing a dress her sister would like. Of course, the people passed by her, thought she was a love sick lad. Pulling off her cap, her black hair fell to her waist.

Walking along the streets, the young guide realized how much she stood out. The women were wearing dresses, the men were wearing nice outfits. She wore neither. In fact, her shirt and pants were a 'little' worn out from what happened with Will.

Molly staggered into the bar and dragged herself to sit next to Cole. Her hair was a mess as her clothes gave a hint that she had been a fight. Her lip was bloodied and her neck held a nasty bruise. "H-hey, what's up?" she said, giving him a crooked smile.

'What the hell!' I staggered back 'where have you been!'

I took Molly's are and walked her out back, as I passed the Barman I flagged for a bath to be run and walked Molly up to the room.

'One day - how do you do it? You stay with me now, I can't bail you out of jail - I'll be in with you!'

I pulled her up ignoring the protests and opened the side door, the bath was there and full. I locked the door and began to remove Molly's clothes

Molly was fighting and sputtering. When he moved her into the bath, she really started to fight against him, trying to bat his hands away. "Hey, hey, hey! I can take a bath by MYSELF! I'm a big girl now!" But his grip was too strong. So she did what she could, she crouched down, covering most of her body.

"I didn't do anything, worth getting into jail, at least!" she snapped, not liking being treated like a child. "I just fell into the ally along the way. And got into a fight!" She looked up at him, her eyes wide. She did not want to go into details. "Cole... don't stay mad... please?"

I glared at her

'stand up and get in that bath'

I moved to get the towels and cloths to wash her - the only soap in my hand, I stared at her 'now Molly'

Molly stayed in her crouched position. "First you leave! I can clean myself!" she said. She did not feel comfortable being dressed in only her boots. Even her guns were out of her reach. Oh, if she had them! Her eyes flared with rebellion. He would have to drag, dump or carry her into the tub. "Or at least, turn around and wait for me to get in there!"

'you've lost that right Molly' I Growled and walked over taking her arm and lifting her up, I pushed her to the bath and pointed. 'You're strong girl but - you don't cross me like that' I stood there daring her to defy me

Molly tumbled into the bath, and glared up at him, still managing to cover her body. "What the hell?! I didn't even start anything! It wasn't even my fault!" she snapped, feeling... too vulnerable. She didn't like this feeling. "How the hell did I cross you?! I didn't plan to get hurt. I didn't.." she looked away and was small enough to be able to completely sink into the water, head and all. She had strong lungs. And she didn't want to look at his face. Reminded her too much of her sister's exfiance.

'you always find trouble Molly from now on - you're staying put with me!'

she slipped under the water, I just put my hand in and pulled her out. I began washing her, enjoying the struggle but using my size to keep her from escaping. I made sure I was tender and gentle, and easing up as she stopped struggling.

'I'm sorry, you scared me is all' I whispered 'I don't want to loose you Molly, I think I've...'

I stopped, cleaning the blood from her face I just looked at her.

'I think I love you Molly' I blurted

Molly still struggled. "Don't treat me like a little kid," she said, cursing her inability to break free. Eventually she calmed down, realizing he was only worried for her. "Loose me?" She at him over her shoulder, her hands still covering her chest. But he started to clean her face.

Her body froze.

Molly didn't know what to say to that. While Cole was a very nicde amn. And he had kept his word... she just... well, Molly knew that love always ended for worse. She looked away. "I don't like when people think. I like when people know."

Molly looked up and smiled. "I know too," she responded, smilling at him. Then she started to slide into the water, hiding her blush. Oh dear, she really must do. She didn't want him to see how embarrassed she was to admitting. She winced as the water water touched her lip. She supposed she was lucky that he didn't the rest of her injuries.

Molly shook her head, and lifted her mouth from the water. "I'd rather you not. It's... rather... embarrassing... personal?" she said, trying to give him a hint. Once the gang had found out she was a girl, well, things went down hill. She was just lucky she knew how to fight dirty. "Co-could you get me a towel?"
