Rough Diamond

"Eh, barely a day's walk," she replied. "I know I've seen that face before... maybe a few days ago? Bothering some of the ladies there. Poor things." Molly shook her head. She nudged her horse to be nice, as the male tried to bit Cole again. "No. No, bad Two Eyes, bad!"

Yes, her horse was named Two Eyes. It's sister was named One Eye.

Well not long to go then, a shame as I was enjoying Molly company.

'two eyes? - what's that from?' the conversation and the scenery would help distract me from the killing I had to do

Molly didn't plan on leaving him until he had finished what he had to do. Besides, it was only a day's walk if they were lucky. Molly wasn't not a lucky person. "It's the horse's name," she replied. "His sister is blind in one eye, and so I call her One Eye. You are riding his girlfriend, Poor Girl. Found her half straved to death."

She looked at the mare now. Strong as an ox. Perhaps stronger. "On the way there, we'll need to take breaks."

'OK - you know the horses' her assumption of girlfriend and boyfriend horses made me smile.

'so can you use those?' I pointed to the guns and bow

"Of course I do. Raised all three of them while I was still in nappies. Well, sort of," she replied. The Poor and Two were very close, almost like a husband and wife. She kept them in separate stales very far from each other. Both got easily jealous.

Molly nodded. "Totally. Ma made sure I was one of the sharpest shooters around. An indian taught me how to use the bow and arrows. He was really nice." She clearly wasn't like others in the town.

I was beginning to like Molly more and more - she could obviously handle herself.

In glancing around the forests I spotted something fluttering - something out of place. 'psst, see that? Lets take a look?'

Molly began to like Cole, he wasn't like the others who lived here. Most of them idiots. "Yeah, alright," she replied. She moved the horses toward the fluttering. Hopefully, it wouldn't be a trap. Then again, it would be her luck.

I move us in gently - slowly pulling the winchester from the saddle holster. As we close I see the remains of a camp - the fire smouldering slightly and a man lying face down a few feet away, the tent flap was moving in the wind.
I look to Molly - 'he's dead - shot in the back, lets check the camp.'

Molly got off her horse, only to inspect the man closer. She frowned as she turned him over. "It's Wilkin's kid," she replied and crawled into the tent. She rummaged through the things, looked as though someone had been here before her. "Cole, I got missing things in here, better check out the rest."

'you know him? Why would he be out here?' I watched her for a moment then checked the ground

'three riders, look - these boot prints have a new pattern. And a single shell casing.'

'well they went where we're going, but I'd prefer not to leave the guy here for the wolves, you got a shovel?'

"He often comes here," Molly shook her head. "No, it's best just to leave him here. The natives will take care of it for us. They liked him," she replied, knowing them very well. She stood up and nicked a few objects that weren't taken. "Well, we better get going if we want to catch up to them."

I nod - uneasy about leaving and Mollys confidence in the natives.

'OK, lead on, scout'

the walk passes quietly - both of us scanning for other signs till Molly points out our destination

Molly pointed right in front of them, noticing to shapes. "Right there," she said. Squinting her eyes, she saw that one of the figures looked familar. She quickly stinged her bow and arrow, careful not to take aim. "What do you want to do now?"

'Wait - I counted three, keep an eye on him.' I moved off to one side watching the man. Another stepped uo to him and pointed directly at Molly, 'Run!' I shouted, then heard the shot and felt the pain in my leg as the third man sprung the ambush.

The horse bolted and I blacked out from the pain - my muscles barely remembering to hold onto the horse.

was Molly OK - I hadn't heard any more shots?

While Molly had only be grazed, unfortunately, her horse had bucked her off, causing her to land into their captor's arms. Her arrow and bow fell to the ground. She screamed out curses struggling against the hold. They handled her roughly, perhaps thinking she was a young boy. The last thing she remembered, before the total darkness blasted into her mind, was seeing the butt of a shotgun ran itself into her face. "Cole..."

(OoC;; Dun dun duuun)

I woke in the livery - horse must have got hungry, the old man leaned in 'bad one that, they got your lad up in the house yonder.' his head jerked up to the end of the street.

I stood noticing the bandage and the blood seeping slowly through. 'I've got to get her' I muttered, 'what?' muttered the old man. I stood grabbing the gun and hobbled my way to the house...

Molly groaned in pain, rolling on the floor where they had dumped her. She had a feeling that they would try to get information about her, thinking she was just a lad. Standing up on wobbly knees, she winced as she felt a headache pounding. Still, she was a stubborn one and pushed through, taking one step at a time. It was as she made it to the door, she heard voices.

"... what he doin' with a small fella like that?" a voice whispered. "Not the kind he takes, eh?"

"Too thin to be a lad of that size," the other replied. "Bet the kid never shaved before."

Molly rolled her eyes. Ingrates.

Approaching the house I could see movement, taking careful aim I steadied myself and fired at the first man - he fell instantly. Pulling out my colt, I charged the door only to watch Will running out the back and the other man grab the dazed looking Molly....

Molly let out a scream of surprise as she was dragged off her feet. She tried to reach her gun, but the man only moved her into an uncomfortable position. She swore she'd get her revenge. But as she looked up, she saw Cole. Her eyes turned pleading. "Cole! Cole!" her voice revealed she was girl. But still, the young woman fought the man, even if he was twice her weight and three times as strong.

She didn't even want to begin to imagine what they in store for her.

To see Molly pleading did it for me, somebody so strong brought so low. Will would escape, for now, time to do the right thing

I knew I was good - time to prove it. The gun was up in a moment and when the smoke cleared Molly was stood, her face covered in the thugs blood as he fell at her feet.

'you OK Molly?' I stammered and then passed out

Molly ran toward Cole as he fell to the ground, ignoring the blood that was staining her face. She shook her head. "You stupid idiot," she said, but she didn't mean it, pulling his head to her lap. He was too heavy for her to carry, but at least she could be there when he woke. Noticing the bullet wound, she took her shirt off, showing her chest to be bound and ripped it in long strips so she'd be able to rebandage his wound. "Stupid, silly man. You lost Will."

I awoke in Mollys lap initially unsure what was going on, 'Molly - did they...?' I asked noticing her state of undress and the dried blood on her head.

'are you OK?' I reach up you gently caress her bloodsoaked face

She waved her hand. "Maa, maa, I'm fine. Of course, the dude over there... well, he won't be getting up," she shrugged and put her hand on top of his. "You, though, owe me a new shift. I had to use it to stop the bleeding." The sad thing was, it was her favorite shirt. She mentally shrugged. Next time, she knew better. Let the person bleed to death. "I don't think you're in any condition to go chasing after Will."

I looked down, 'guess not. What are you going to do? I leaned over and pulled the shirt from the dead man offering it to Molly - unable to look away from her nakedness

She shook her head. "I am not as naked as you seem to imagine. I do have a bandage over my chest. And it's like the whole town hasn't seem me like this," she replied. "Bandit problem. I was bait." She looked at the dead man and shivered. Molly did not wear dead people's clothing. As a rule.
