Rough Diamond

Molly tilted her head and smiled. "Hehe, that's something you'll just have to thank me for later," she said. Oh boy, she couldn't believe that she had just traded her life. At least though, for now, Cole was safe. Now, Will on the other hand, she had a feeling that they'd meet up pretty soon. Hopefully, with an arrow in his eye!

I watched as the native came and sat by the fire - I offered food but he just sneered at me

'Molly?' I looked to her...

Molly raised an eyebrow at the native, talking in his langauge. "He offers you peace and you sneer? Should I be telling your wife you are causing trouble?"

"My wife has nothing to do with this!"

"She would say otherwise," she snapped.

The native grumbled as Molly turned to Cole. "Don't worry about him. He's always been in a rather foul mood. According to the Elders, he's always been like that." She scooted closer to the nonnative.

"Nope," she replied, stretching her arms out. "Sleepy. And you get to be my pillow." She leaned against him, her head resting against his shoulder. "I hate sleeping."

I smiled and cradled her head - watching the native as he sat silent and passive.

the night passed and I thought I'd wake Molly so I lean't down and kissed her lips gently.....

Molly's felt something wrong with her face. By instinct, her fist shot out to strike something... humanlike. Her body flew to the side, causing her to hit her head on the rough ground below her. "Shit," she muttered, slowly sitting up and rubbing the back of her head. She spoke in the native's language. "Never again without my permission! Never again!"

The native just sat there and chuckled softly.

I laughed at Molly 'wow I didn't know you cared!' and winked at the native - his reactions were encouraging

'so where to today Scout?'

Molly stuck out her tongue. And pointed at the native. "You can speak his langauge, so speak it," she snapped standing up. "You and I are heading toward the hills. You," she pointed at the other man, "are going back to your wife so that you inform everyone else that Cole is not the man you seek."

"And why just my wife?"

"She is the gossip."

I smiled as the native walked out of the clearing, hoping that we would at least be safe from the natives.

'so Molly - talk to me - what are your plansfor this trip?'

"I take you to hill," she replied, pointing toward a dark looking path. "Then, we wait for Will, shoot him up a little, thrust him into the hands of the natives, and then, well... I haven't gotten that far. Hopefully, though, we can beat that bas- pig, to the hill and surprise him. Is he smart?"

'he's smart, probably up there waiting for us or dealing with the natives himself. But then it would depend on how he's doing - I'm pretty sure he's feeling bad right now and maybe off getting some help. So where are we gonna rest so I can heal up?'

Molly pointed toward one of the horses. "You get rest up there," she replied. "Since we don't know where he is, we'll need to make as few stops as possible. But, we'll go as slow as we can. Don't worry, she's a smooth ride and I'll keep an eye out for Two Eyes."

The male horse seemed to snort in dismay.

"Unforunately," Molly sighed. "We aren't allowed in the caves. But I do know where we could stake out. It's this huge tree that's hollow on the inside. The natives did it for people like me. It should be quite safe. But, I don't know if anyone else is in there or if Will found it."

'Ok - sounds perfect. Lead on.' I sat watching the treeline, or Molly as she walked. I wondered if she would fall for my charms or if Will would find us first.....

Molly led her horse by placing her hand on it's neck. She softly hummed, looking back at Cole and smiling. "So tell me, how did you and Will get mixed up together?" She kissed her horse on hte muzzle. "Good boy."

'I fell into a bad group of kids - Will was the biggest one. I guess it just happens, you go from stealing food to money to horses to robbing banks. First time he shot somebody we all wanted out but he wasbigger and faster so we stuck around or suffered. Will got worse though - all of us I guess. But he went too far - never realised that we weren't fully with him. Then......'

She looked over her shoulder, up at him, looking be bit remorseful. "Wow," she said, sighing softly. "Why is it they always steal food, horses and then rob banks? I tell you, it's amazing how many don't think to plan ahead!" She tried to lighten up the mood. Molly reached out to rub One Eye's muzzle. "I'm sorry."

'why sorry Molly? They were my choices. I guess I'd rather settle down now,was trying to till Will snatched that away.......'

The pain was there still but buried in a pile of revenge.

'hey -there...' I pointed to a series of platforms in the woods 'is that a village of something?'

"Well," she began. "It's just so sad." She looked to where he pointed.

"Nope, that's the high priest and the alter in which they scarifice someone to their gods," Molly stated with a shiver. "Never get on their bad side."

"Well, we are going to cut through the alter and then it'll be... not that long of trip. If we're lucky, Will will be behind us and we can take over in the hollow tree. If they natives haven't cleaned it out, there might be ammo and other weapons for when I was last here."

Needless to say, it was horrible, the last time.

'Ok scout - lead on' I follow cautiously - but the trip goes quickly and we reach a very large tree 'that it Molly?'
