Rough Diamond

Molly had no idea what happened, one of her guns kicked to the other side of the room. Her arms were above her head. She struggled against his grip. "Well, I don't usually go at this alone," she replied, trying to get him to release her. "And who says you are too big for me? I can take whatever you got!" She growled at Will's name. "Let him try! I'll be much quicker than him!" Clearly, she was not one to think she was ever defeated. "Now, let me go you brute!" She had a feeling, he wouldn't, as to make a point.

'nope - you gotta make me Molly.'

I held her hands up high in one hand - the other in the small of her back.

'so truth time - why are you still around me?'

She tried to kick him, but couldn't seem to reach. Molly tanked down on her arms, trying to get at least one free. It was amazing how he could easily drawf her. Then again, she was quite young. "Let me go, Cole!" she said, refusing to beg. "Or, I swear, I'll turn you in faster-"

"So truth time- why are you still around me?"

"I told you, didn't I? I'm the best guide there is," she replied. "I always make sure I finish the job." She wasn't going to add on the fact a friend bounty hunter of hers was actually looking for Cole's head. Molly had debated whether or not to inform her. This act was pushing toward a 'Oh, hey Anna, I just wanted to tell you, I found your bounty. Do you mind if I give him to you dead?' Or something like that. And for several other reasons, she wouldn't be sharing with him. Truth of the matter was, he was worth more than Will. If she turned him in, she could generate even more money for the town. "I'm beginning to think I should've turned you in, when I had the chance! Let. Me. Go." She bucked under his grip, trying to use a leg to free herself.

'Now Molly - I've broken a few horses in my time - don't get added to the list.'

I let her go and sit on the bed - head down 'But that times gone - I have a need Molly, one you won't understand. See when Will double crossed me he shot three people that day - and only I lived.'

% shook my head 'the other was my wife - so I guess you could say I got reason to hate him. If you want the bounty check my bag - there's $3000 in there - more than I'm worth alive. Was gonna be my new life - but he took that.'

She rolled her eyes. As if he could break her. Please. But she said something, rubbing her wrists.

Molly didn't say anything as he talked, she stared at him. "We all have needs Cole," she said. "We all want to take revenge," she looked away. "I'm sorry about your wife. But that doesn't give you a reason to throw your life away." She shook her head. "I don't want your money. I don't take pity from anyone!"

She laughed lightly.

'It's not pity I'm offering Molly - I only want revenge and to be left to live a life I can, a good woman and no regrets. Maybe you want more?'

Molly leaned back. "This town and hills are all I know. How could I want more without knowing what's out there?" she replied, but smiled softly. It was true. She wanted more. She wanted what her sister had. "I can help you with your revenge, if you still want me too." Even though, it would probably make her wanted as well. She mentally shrugged, it was about time anyway.

'Molly I think I'd like you to finish this with me - you've done so much so far for me that whichever of us put the bullet in his head deserves to do it. You can come with me once it's done if you like - I'm going to head south - see what trouble I can find there - maybe end up a lawman!' It was mean't as a joke but the more I thought the more it sounded reasonable

'So do we move out into the wilds tomorrow and lie low - or do you wanna just go home and play nice and safe?'

She smiled and nodded. "Alright then, I think I would too," she replied. "I guess it's time I leave home anyway. Been planning too for years, but never seemed to get around to it." She went to pick up her gun and stuff it into the sides of her pants. "You think I'm going to lie low while all this happens? Nu uh. I'm coming." She smiled and settled down near the door.

I sit up 'well you have a bit to learn Molly', I move past her and hook the chair under the doorhandle 'there - no disturbances'

I return to the bedroll and climb inside

'coming?' I ask my hand outstretched to Molly

Molly, deciding to tease him, suddenly plunged into the bed roll, managing not to hurt herself. "Precious, ain't I?" she said, a smile playing on her lips. "So, what time are we leaving in the morning?"

'More thsn precious Molly!' I muttered wrapping her in my arms 'We'll leave at dawn - if you're awake!'

She cuddled into him, resting her face against his neck. "Sure, just pour a bucket of water on me, if you can't shake me awake," she yawned and sighed. Without realizing it, her eyelids began to grow heavy. Molly was falling into exhaustion.

I let her drift then kiss her forehead before allowing sleep to overcome me, feeling her body close was doing things to me but the day had been so busy!

I awoke just before dawn and lay there stroking Molly's hair waiting for her to wake but not wanting to wake her - watching her sleep and smiling

I pull her close one last time, then move to gather our equipment, not wanting to disturb Molly's sleep

Molly moaned. "No... bad... food. Don't go..." she mummbled as the warm pillow moved away. Some how, she managed to roll herself onto the floor, snapping her eyes open. "Not fair!" She blinked and rubbed them. "Nya, Cole... I'm not turkey pudding, right?" Oh, the dreams the girl had.

Molly shook her head. "Oh, I dreamed I was a horse that was eating guns that got turned into a turkey pudding with a boot getting ready to eat me!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air wildly. But she clearly wasn't finished. "And then I was about to have some nice cake and it ran away... that's the sad part. I was so close and it grew six legs and ran-KYA!" She pointed to something on the wall next to Cole.

"B-b-b-beetle!"

Molly hated beetles.

I turned and grabbed the offending insect - then held it out to Molly 'you? Sacred of something? Surely not!'

I grinned and threw it out the door. 'Now are we gonna get going Molly?'

"'Git 'way! Git 'way!" Molly cringed hiding her face. "Oh be quiet," she muttered as she stood up and inched around the room, grabbing the last of her things. After a moment, she took off at a high speed cross the room before coming to a stop in the hall. "Just for that, you get to carry everything!" With that she raced down the stairs and to the fresh air outside.

I stoop down to gather the equipment and call down 'hey I have no pants!'

then begin to check the room for spares

Molly shook her head. "Not my problem!" She knew it there would some clean ones in the room next door.
