Hi folks. My holiday was OK, but I have had a horrible cold for the last few days. I apologize if it delayed the game. I actually missed two days of work because of it.

Ouch! We had something rage through my household - I'm getting it now, so I'm missing work, but it went fast, not fun, but fast.

Things are calming down and I am on the mend, so posting will pick up, buyer are on a road trip to go to a friend's birthday. I can not write on a moving car without getting sick, so I will post tomorrow night. Thank you all for being so patient. I wish you and yours a happy New Year. By the way, I just watched the original Miracle on 34th Street on Netflix. I highly recommend it to anyone of any age, even if you are a bit cynical and jaded like I am.

Which brings me to this post: My extended Christmas vacation is keeping me occupied, so my posting will continue to be erratic for at least one more week before I can resume regular posting.

I just spent New Year's Eve and Day in a hospital bed.... Not a good start, eh? I have lost 18 pounds in six weeks, watched my sodium carefully for the first time in my adult life and have not had a potato chip or fried food for six weeks. Still, my blood pressure landed me there. I am on new meds now. It sucks, since I have been so good and exercising. Anyway, I am on the mend still, or again, or something, so no worries.

Well my children, someone has been reading our efforts and enjoying them! Luna_Wolf72 tells that she appreciates the folk who have choose to become a part of this thread, and I feel the same. I know things are on a hiatus at the moment, as we wait for returning members, but I look forward to what we might accomplish together in the future. (Do I sound like a politician or what?)

You didn´t have a specific direction you intended the RP to go in, right? I mean, you don´t have a BBEG planned out, and the organization of the monsters is not set in stone?

Hey, that actually sounds pretty cool. Maybe there is some vampire lord type who had taken over an ancient castle the villagers were unaware of. Maybe his minions have been attacking, and the vanished folk feed his hunger. I would be O.K. with that, if other people are.

The Crow's Nest

In the outer reaches of the Milky Way, light years away from the law abiding systems and stellar empires, lies a den of evil. The Crow's Nest is a carved out asteroid, orbiting a dying sun. Here the worst scum of the universe come to spend their ill gotten gain, sample the managements stable of slave whores and plot their next dastardly deeds.

This is an adult game with strong sexual themes, so you must be eighteen to join. You can play a slave whore, a personal slave, a slave up for auction, a pirate, a captive of a pirate, a member of the Crow's Nest staff (guards, masters, barkeeps) or any other role you can think of. Captives and slaves may be forced to fight to the death, for the amusement of the patrons, or do many other undesirable things. There may also be raids, duals and back stabbing.

Sideshow freak sat at his desk, staring at the lack of posting on his favorite thread, and wondered if it was dead. Suddenly, two members of his little band posted, giving him a surge of hope. Tonight he was so bored he had resorted to watching Cherry 2000 (a crappy movie with a very beautiful, but somewhat wooden, Melanie Griffith). Was there still the possibility of a pastime other than watching old cheesy 80s movies with hot chicks? He had to hope so.

He fired off a message to the missing member, requiring a response within 24 hours. If he did not receive a response, he decided that he would forge ahead with out them. He had been considering watching Steel Dawn, but once he went down that path of crapitude, there might not be a way back.

Turned out that I was kept busy for longer than I thought, and this little thread here simply slipped my mind completely. I definitely did not want to let you hanging like this.

Honestly I am not sure whether/when I will be able to return to posting. Would have to read up on what has transpired since my departure first. So for the time being it is probably the safest bet to assume I have dropped from the thread, as much as it pains me to admit this.

Hello Folks,

I am experiencing some difficulties financially, because I was in the hospital a few weeks ago, and my insurance (read really crappy insurance) won't pay for a good bit of it (call in under-insured). I lost a full week of pay as well, and we were already in a hole because of the holidays, and because I did not know this would happen and got a new phone. While we do try to build savings, our student loans have taken up our extra earning for awhile now.

We do NOT do the credit card thing, because I have been in trouble with that before, and won't ever do that again, unless my children are starving. Right now, we are going to have to temporarily cancel the data plans on our cell phones and also our internet access (as well as netflix and eating out and having any fun that is not a board game). It is really painful to do this, but if we can not find a way to cut costs, we will be in serious trouble. I do not have internet access at work, but I can possibly get on at my mother-in-laws. We already cancelled cable about six month ago and only watch shows through the internet.

Anyway, I have another day or so, but we need to act now, because we are looking at a deficit that could endanger our car payments or our house payments. As soon as possible we will be getting our internet back, or the cell phone data plans. Our carrier, T-Mobile, said that they can suspend our plans due to financial difficulties, for a few months, but can not cancel them without a $200 fine. Anyway, this is crappy news and will delay things, but please bare with me and I will be back when I can, or I will try to check in on my mother-in-law's computer or a library computer, if I can, but I also owe the library $35. That is not a lot, but if I don't pay it, I can not use their computers, and right now that is enough for five days of groceries at Aldis.
