Sci-fi virtual incest story idea

Idea that came to me today. Too late to be done as an April fools.

40ish years in the future. Computer games now involve full virtual reality that simulate the real world perfectly. headsets affect your brain so your body can feel everything your character feels. (Think about Ready Player One as an example)

Either a dating couple of just a couple of friends as the main characters. They only know each other virtually. Not real life.

They have coded a private server and put both their houses next to each other, including realistic copies of their family members.

Inciting incident - either one decides to play a trick on the other, or as breakup revenge. Either way, an illegal modification is made to the game. It's expected to only hurt one person, but accidentally affects both main characters.

All players can now only escape virtual reality if they commit incest with every member of their family. The computer copies of their family members are suddenly very up for incest and even have incest with each other (something that wasn't happening until the modification was activated).

What do you think? Has the story got potential?

I'm imagining it as from a male, 1st person POV, with the other main character as female. This would allow for descriptions of female character getting intimate with father, brothers and mother.

I'm imagining that male character doesn't have any male family members as taboo readers don't seem to like M/M moments, and I honestly don't feel confident in writing those scenes.

So it might work but:

you’re going to need the inciting incident to be something pretty bad I’m assuming the trick was still to get the other to commit virtual incest which if it got recorded could be pretty bad.

some bigger stakes: like not being able to leave the game is bad but fucking some NPCs or be trapped forever in a game? Yeah if I was in the same spot I’d just do the deed and then when I get out drink to forget what I did. So I say add something to put a clock on things. That way they don’t have time to rationalize that they are just fucking NPCs, they need to get past their revulsion really quickly.


Here’s what I reccomend:

Two protags are 18 years old and they already live next door. The “game” is a hub which creates a virtual copy of the neighborhood. but most people just use it as a starting place and then launch apps or whatever.

So they didn’t make a copy of their families, copies of their families are their family members’ avatars. When they aren’t being used, AI algorithms simulate what they would normally do.

The hub is supposed to be family friendly but once a player turns 21 they can activate a sex mode and have sex with other consenting partners however:

1. Player must actively be playing
2. Player’s partner must also be 21+, and not related or depending on region, not illegal to sleep with
3. Sex is private and cannot be seen by other players unless broadcast.

Our leads hacked their age. This is a violation but they simply toggle it on and off each session, the hub has regular security sweeps but they aren’t that often and can be tracked so as long as they finish fucking and toggle it off before the sweep, they are golden.

They keep up a virtual sex life but in the real world, they have a huge fight that also involves their families. They get so pissed they decide to launch an attack and hack in a sex mode for the now NPC families of their partner and hack the algorithm to give them all high sex drives so they can get the other in trouble or just give them a bit of a scare.

However, using the hack multiple times like that causes other issues. Now everyone is set to “Broadcast” so anyone who can view sex can see them and even record.

Additionally, the families must have their artificial sex drive reduced to 0 before either player can log out turn the toggle off and erase the history of what the avatar got up to .

So now both of them have to keep the avatars of their families from being seen, drain their sex drive to zero and then log out and erase the log, turn the toggle back off and turn off the mods not only before a security sweep, but also PRAY that none of their flesh and blood family members log on while they are in the middle of doing this. Otherwise they are going to jail for a LONG TIME.

I’d say the dumb kids succeed (maybe they get both families together in a basement and have a massive orgy) they apologize for being dumb and fix things…not knowing that one or multiple family members did log on and know what happened and possibly participated
