Ganelon

OOC: 100! You did it! Congratulations!

IC:
"Right, the animals seem to have had it as well. Let us let them rest a bit as well. Oh damn... parts of me ache I didn't even know I had..." Ganelon jumped down from the horse and removed the blanket.

The hilly area provided some cover from prying eyes but at the same time prevented them from scanning their surroundings. Ganelon pulled a swig of water from his waterskin and threw his braid over his shoulder... or made to... he completely forgot that his hair was now short and he could very well feel the wind whistling in his ears and playfully messing his hair; also, he felt cooler and fresher somehow as if cutting the braid off also took some strange burden from his shoulders... Perhaps such violation of family traditions wasn't so bad after all!

"How do you feel, Ash? Do you hurt somewhere? I'm so sorry... Sometimes I'm as sensitive as a boulder, I should have asked earlier but it was so hectic... How did you fare in that fight? Gods, I'm so embarrassed..."

OOC: Thank you! :)

IC: Slipping off her mount, Ash groaned, stretching her legs and rubbing her bottom. "You're right about muscles...but I think my tush took the brunt of it."

"How do you feel, Ash? Do you hurt somewhere? I'm so sorry... Sometimes I'm as sensitive as a boulder, I should have asked earlier but it was so hectic... How did you fare in that fight? Gods, I'm so embarrassed..."

Ash smiled slightly, but felt a little embarrassed herself. "You have no reason to be embarrassed...but I faired well enough. My ribs are sore and a sort of sensitive area, but once the bruising goes, I'll be alright."

She brushed hair away from her face pulled it back into half a braid, letting the air cool her neck and back.

"I'm glad you haven't suffered any serious injuries. I'd have trouble treating you as effectively and efficiently as you are treating me. Say, can you heal your own body as well with your magic?" Ganelon wondered and having received an answer nodded in understanding.

"I'll have a look over that next hill and be right back. Have some well-deserved rest meanwhile, why don't you..." he smiled and stretching his arms trotted uphill to have a look at their immediate surroundings.

He really enjoyed his new haircut, he felt more free when wind played in his ears and in his hair. He even let a thought that he felt younger... well, in that mirror he certainly looked a few years younger. Reaching the top Ganelon looked around: hills, hills and more hills, so many place to stage an ambush and so many places to hide from one. There really was no one way to pass through this region. They could either go up and down those hills, cutting their way short or snake around them, letting their animals keep their strength.

Ash watched Ganelon trot off and plopped herself down on a cool patch of grass. The mares grazed nearby, nibbling at the grass and occasionally blowing out noisy puffs of air. She smiled and stretched out onto her back. Closing her eyes, she sighed and yawned. It had been a long night and a hectic morning. She would be happy to get to Tylen and perhaps find some safety and rest there until they were ready to deal with Garlock.

Crossing her arms over her chest and letting herself relax, she waited for Ganelon to return and take his rest before they were off again. Her mind wandered here and there, but seemed to linger on the thought of that morning. Waking up in his arms and then kissing him. He had been so wonderfully warm and strong, part of her ached for more.

Slowly he made his way back to their stopping place and saw Ash laying on the grass, arms crossed and eyes closed. At first he wanted to close upon her stealthily but abandoned such idea. They were stressed enough for games that might scare her more. They didn't need any more tension in their journey... However, the newly-discovered tenderness they had shared in the morning was yet another incredible thing about their companionship. It began earlier tha Ganelon had anticipated but he had nothing against.

"It looks fine and clear," he said, sitting next to Ash and tickling her ear with a blade of grass. "Altough there are many places to hide in... We should decide how to... Hey... why are you looking at me like that?"

Having lost herself in a day dream, she had cracked her eyes open to look at him. The tickling grass made her smile softly, but she hadn't realized that her day dream was somehow reflected in her whole facial expression. Sort of dreamy, a little glassy eyed. She flushed and laughed it off, sitting up suddenly and smoothing back her hair again. "No reason...I was half asleep. I'm sorry. You were saying?" She asked, straightening her shirt and vest, hoping that her aching ribs and breast would feel better before the nights end. Somehow, she doubted it, but she didn't to waste her powers on bruises. Twisting her body slightly, she smiled again at him, "We need to figure out what?"

Ganelon laughed, seeing her dreamy expression and fought hard for control of his senses. He was almost sorry for bringing her to reality from the land of dreams she had wandered. Brushing some stray hair from her forehead he repeated:

"I said that we should decide how to continue: do we cross the hills or travel around them. If we go over them, our journey will be shorter. If we snake between them it will take longer but it will be easier to hide in case we're followed or attacked..."

He lay back on the grass too, gazing at the sky and white clouds slowly passing overhead. "Sure is a nice place," he commented.

"Well, I think that being safe is best...we should probably take the long way around. As much as I want to get there, I also would like to get there in one piece." She replied and watched him lay back on the grass.

She had never taken much interest in men before, always viewing them as a threat, but Ganelon was becoming more than a companion, he was becoming a destraction. She forced her eyes ahead, refusing to let them wander over his frame while he lay back. She especially loved his hair...it gave him a youthful and almost dashing look. When he gave her that self assured, almost cocky smile, her heart dropped down near her feet.

Shaking her head, she stood and walked toward the mares. Her mount raised her head and nuzzled her hand as she patted the beast with her free hand.

He watched Ash go to the horses and play with her horse. There always was something about women and horses that was getting to him, some erotic connection between the two. Was it because the rhythm of riding reminded him of lovemaking or was it because horses, like women, were gentle yet powerful. It didn't actually matter but the memory of Ash's lips on his from the morning made him consider things. He was sure that if they stay together their relationship will develop further. He caught himself staring at her body a few times, and was thinking a lot about her.

Getting up and gathering their things Ganelon approached Ash and putting a hand on her waist spun her around to face him. "Well, shall we go?" he asked, looking her in the eyes and smiling and her confused expression, drowning in her eyes. He barely noticed her fingers as they played with a ribbon on his shirt.

She let out a startled little gasp as he spun her to him and held her close, his hand on her waist, light, but firm. She had been lost in her own thoughts and now he was so close again, it was hard to resist the warmth of his body heat and the way he looked deep into her eyes, as if reaching her soul.

She tried to smile, but her lips felt dry. Her soft pink tongue slid out just barely and licked the seam, wetting them. One hand was caught between their bodies and she nervously played with the ribbon that lay on his chest.

Slowly she blew out a breath and laughed self consciously, "Yes...I guess we should...go."

Ganelon nodded, never looking away from her eyes, her gaze so warm, her slim body so delicate in his embrace. Somehow this moment had become magical and for a while they looked into each other's eyes, oblivious to their horses, surroundings and time. There were only the two of them and nothing else, nothing else mattered for that while. Slowly they were drawing closer to each other and then their lips met in their second kiss, one as soft as their first one. It wasn't long but it was long enough for the both of them to make sure it was right. The Ash drew away, a sweet rosy blush on her cheeks but Ganelon never let her from his embrace. Instead he kissed her cheek, nose and forehead.

"So let's..." he whispered and helped Ash mount her mare; trying to make his pace steady and not break into w wild run he approached his own horse and jumped on her, a big grin of joy and happiness on his face. He turned to Ash and extended his hand, "Come on!"

She was riding on her own cloud of happiness, completely surprised that Ganelon had kissed her and not her him this time. She was still blushing from it...he had kissed so sweetly, so softy with no real hurry, as if savoring. Her cheek and forehead still burned from his next two kisses and she couldn't help but grin back at him. He looked so happy.

She found herself giggling as he helped her on her mare and then held out his hand, signalling that they should move. She grasped his hand and gave it a squeeze before letting go. "You lead the way...I'll be right behind you."

Ganelon set a pace that would let them travel fast and not tire the animals too much so that they could cover much distance before the sun set and forced them to a halt. His thoughts were gathered around the person of Ash and the place she had in his life and in his heart. What drove him to kiss her so tenderly? Surely if he desired her he would show more passion, more determination, he would have followed in his grandfather's footsteps and showed her the heat of Swordbearer blood. So why didn't he? Why did he approach her so shyly, anxiously even? Because he cared for her and her feelings? Because he knew how careful she was in showing her own feelings? Ganelon couldn't find the answer to those questions but that did not stop him from pondering them further.

He know one thing though, this day had seen a radical change in their companionship. Ganelon vowed to protect Ash and take care of her and he really cared for her. He felt good in her company, she was bright, intellient, talented... He could say so many good things about her. His heart grew in his chest and he was really happy. For the first time since he had left his home, Ganelon was happy about his life, his name and his destiny.

Ash was concerned...her mind kept drifting off to daydreams of Ganelon and reflecting on their two small, but intimate moments. She shook her head, trying to clear it. This was no time to turn to mush over a man and yet Ganelon was not ordinary. Not to her anyway. She watched him in front of her, studying his posture, her eyes lingering on this strong legs that gripped the mare and the shift of his body. She still couldn't believe he had lost his braid, but she was beginning to get used to the new look.

She sighed to herself and rolled her aching shoulders and neck. She hoped that they would stop soon. The dull ache around her ribs and breast was getting worse and heaven's new her legs and bottom were on fire!!

Ganelon

Ganelon started doubting his grandpa's warning, the evening was drawing near and there was no sign of ambush or even presence of the murdering trio. No signs of any travellers, no camps, no flitting shadows... nothing. Only nature, pure and untamed in her full wild glory. The sun began its descent behing the horizon so they decided to make a stop for the night. Ganelon rode up one of the hills to see if there were no fires nearby that would betray the position of anyone in the vicinity but found nothing. Then it struck him that most probably they have missed their pursuers because they had been stalled by Ganelon's wounds in the earlier fight.

He returned to Ash, to see her rub her bottom with a pained expression on her face. She must have rarely travelled mounted, he thought compassionately.

"Not used to riding, are you?" he stated more than asked. "Anyway, we can stop here, it seems safe enough... And damn, am I hungry. Good thing I ransacked the foodstore in that inn," he grinned. "Look what I have with me!"

Ash gave him a slightly sheepish look, "No...I usually travel by foot and now I know why." She gave him a small grin and continued to rub her bottom and stretch her tired and extremely sore muscles. Her stomach grumbled when he mentioned food, cramping slightly. "Food...oh yes! That would be wonderful."

She moved closer to him and chuckled as she saw the contents of his sack. "Goodness, Ganelon...did you take everything?!" She grinned, watching him pull out cheese, bread, a small jug of wine, some dried/smoked meats and even a small pouch that contained something secretive.

He met her eyes and gave her an almost sly look. Arching her brows in question, she eyed the pouch, "What?"

He toyed with it a second and then opened it slowly and showed her the contents. She let out a little squeel of delight, "Chocolate!"

Ganelon

"Yes! And it's all for you to eat!" Ganelon grinned seeing Ash behave like a little girl. As she put a piece in her mouth her features were lit by delight and some unimaginable pleasure. With her face shining like that and a content smile on her lips she looked like a little angel.

Ganelon divided portions of their remaining fare to serve as supper and put the rest into his sack. He concluded that what they had with them would last for three days easily. And the day after tomorrow they should arrive in Coliander so they had nothing to worry about supplies. Thinking again, Ganelon divided in half what he had and put it into Ash's sack in case they were separated from each other. You never know, he thought.

"This place is wonderful. Look at all those stars... and so many of them. Anyway, let's have supper and then... My! Ash, you like chocolate that much?!" he exclaimed.

She popped the last piece of chocolate in her mouth and licked her lips. She savored the last piece and didn't answer straight away. When she swallowed, she patted her tummy and blushed, "Yes and that's why I never buy it or I'd end up as big as a house." She looked at her portion of dinner and let out a little moan, "You may not be able to lift me back on the horse in the morning. You might just have to roll me along." She joked and took her portion. With slow nibbles, she began to eat some cheese and bread and sighed happily.

"Yes...the stars are beautiful..." For a moment she toyed with some grass, leaning back against her arms, her body slightly propped up and legs extended and crossed at the ankle. "Do you think we'll find trouble? I haven't felt anything from my brand, but I still would rather not come in contact with those thieves."

Ganelon

"I should hope not..." Ganelon agreed. "But I saw no traces of anyone today and no smoke or fire right now so I guess we're safe. The delay in our departure probably worked for us after all," he said, rubbing his right shoulder which had felt strangely warm for the past two hours.

"I guess we can sleep peacefully tonight. The horses will warn us if there's danger. That's the bright side of having animals with you. I guess we should buy ourselves a dog... and you should definitely have a cat... Then we can think of building a house and raising a merry bunch of kids... I'm just kidding," he explained quickly noticing that Ash sat up and looked at him strangely. "...about the house." Ganelon added and laughed out loud as she threw a dry twig at him.

"Does it hurt much? Your body?"

She couldn't help but grin at him and laugh along. He always had a way of making her laugh, but the truth was, the thought of a house and kids with Ganelon stirred something deep within her. She shook it off by throwing a twig at him and laughing, but now it was another thought that would probably nag at her until she figured out what she wanted to do with her life...if she lived long enough to find out.

"Does it hurt much? Your body?"

She stretched to test her muscles and winced, "Yes, but I'll be OK. It's only bruising and soreness." She scruntched up her face in a mock scowl. "I'm tough...no problems." Then she giggled and groaned, grabbing her side. "Well, OK...perhaps not too tough. I could use a soak in a hot spring or something as such. Your twin was surprisingly heavy and all this riding I guess made the soreness a bit worse. You know...with all the bouncing and giggling..." She stopped and blushed at the image she was painting...

Ganelon

"Oh?! Bouncing and giggling?" Ganelon inquired with mock surprise. "I wonder what you were doing behing my back all this time while we were travelling. Hmmm, shall I be jealous over some invisible familiar that treated you so good?" he asked, raising his eyebrows, touching his hand to his heart in a theatrical gesture and using his most charming voice. Then he laughed and drank some wine.

"But seriously, maybe you need a massage to relax you? Or would you rather go to sleep now?"

A massage? It sounded lovely, but she had never received one before. She hesitated a moment...pondering if it was wise to let him touch her right now and yet the thought of being able to wake up the next morning and not be to stiff and sore was appealing.

She took a small sip of wine and gave him another shy smile, "Well, I suppose a massage would be nice. I've never had one before, but it sounds lovely. I know my muscles could use it. And no...you have nothing to be jealous about." She ended and broke out into a grin and chuckled. "How would you like me to be for this...massage."
