Self Portrait Tips?

I finally have a pic of myself up on my sig. Me and my crazy crooked smile. With last year's blonde hair. It doesn't look at all like that anymore.

Well, you're beautiful! I love your smile. Your blond hair is cute, but I bet it looks good in other shades as well.

I'm sure you have lots of friends with digital cameras who would be willing to take some head shots for you. I would suggest a neutral background (no strong lines running into or out of your brain), preferably some distance from you so that it is out of focus. I'd also suggest indirect natural light on one side of your face, with some bounce on the other. (By bounce, I mean the natural indirect light is bounced of a surface to illuminate the other side of your face, but slightly less intensely.) You can often find a spot next to a wall, where the wall serves as your bounce surface. You can add a back light, if that's possible, but it isn't necessary.

Anyway, as I said before, you're beautiful, and it shouldn't be hard to capture that beauty in a photograph.
