A revolver needs to be cocked and re-aimed before each shot, and carries a limited number of bullets.

There are only two reasons that people favor semi-automatic pistols over revolvers. They're either too lazy to cock or reload, or they're out to do some serious carnage. Fuck them both.

Double action revolvers only require you to pull the trigger, not cock it. Movies make their actors cock everything. I guess it adds emphasis to the OMG YOU DEAD NOW moment.

It would be pointless to purchase a pistol for home protection if you had to reload all the time. No gun is giving you unlimited bullets. But surely allowing for 6+ automatically reloaded bullets isn't too much to ask when you're facing an intruder. An event that, assuming it happens at all, will likely be a once in a lifetime event. You won't be mr. cool under pressure make every shot count, time to reload after 2 shots, guy. They're not too lazy to reload, they don't intend to miss. Pressure + limited bullets + moving target = ?

So do semi autos, plus you do not have to cock a double action revolver each time you shoot it. I need one of those automatic aiming devices you speak of, yellow-neck.

The automatic aiming device is your own hand, dippy. With a semi-automatic or double action revolver or whatever instrument of multiple death you prefer, you only have to release the trigger and fire again and again.

Now work on convincing me that you need to fire again and again in rapid succession more than six times to repel the guy climbing through your window or onto your wife.
