Sensually64 said:Oops honey I missed this one. Little brain dead today I guess. Good, I am glad to hear that. It isn't fair to kids. My beloved father was 30 when I was born and in those days that was unusual. I just the first with five younger brothers. My dad did a great job with them though. He had bad knees from playing college football but he never missed a thing we did.......be it sports or plays or anything. When he retired he never missed a thing my kids did either. I remember my brother's played on a afterwork softball team. It was a dirt field and not bleacher. One of my brother's was playing right field and the Center fielder said " who is the old couple behind the screen "? My bro said " that's my folks ". The CF was shocked and said your guys are are in your forties and your folks still come to your game? LOL There were always there for us. That always met a lot to us.

I am divorced now and have one son that just turned 11 in august. for the early stages of his life i was living in wis, fla, and n.c. but once he started getting old enough to participate in school activities I decided I had missed enough of his life and he was going to need a dad to help him with all his activities so I decided to move back to iowa and my home town so i could be closer to him. I very rarely miss any of his sporting acitivites, even though it means taking saturdays off for most the things...and haven't missed a school musical or play yet.. My parents were always there for me, and i am determined to always be there for him...
