Shadow over Gerelden OOC

Gah, I just realized that Najah's char is a wild elf. Blast, I didn't catch the second part of her race earlier. I'll have to think of something to fix that.

Yeah, kinda confusing with the "Wild elf" and the use of the word "his" right after, mostly because Jager is not a "Wild elf," he's a Mori elf, and the Wild elf is a "she". Big freaking difference (although I'm not sure what the difference is besides the Mori being of my creation).

So, yeah, Najah, if the tavern were in Detrol, I figured it'd be near the perimeter in like the poor side of town were the guards rarely show up. And if Jager showed up there, he'd be looking very much like a human, until he lowered his hood and revealed his ears. Then he'd look like a human with pointy ears. :D

Najah PMed me with an interesting question and after coming up with an answer I realized everyone else should know as well. So to simplify the question...

What does it take to see through my characters illusions including smell?

For most they wont be able to see through his illusion or even smell through it. The more magic the person controls or uses the more they can see through his illusions. So for example if they are able to cast only a few minor healing spells then they might only be aware of a slight foul odor in the air and that something isn't quite right. But if they are a lv. 90 epic magic caster the illusions would just melt away.

Thats the point. There is no real difference aside from name. I'll work on a new prophecy, don't worry about it.

Edit: That better?

posting/responding

Should I wait, or can I go ahead and respond to brains since he's the only one I would be able to react to?

A bit better. Now I'm only sure of two of the "one's." :)

Hm...and if it is true that there is no real difference between Wild elves and Mori elves, then I'll have to work on that a bit.

From your description, I see the Mori as more or less a clan/tribe of wild elves. He might not recognize himself as a wild elf, but Mori.........nothing wrong with that.

Man, I hate it when I come up with an idea and it turns out that there's already something nearly identical to what I thought was an original idea. :(

it happens to the best of us. I've had plenty of ideas only to find out someone did something about it before I did, lol.

Oh well.

Tala is welcome to think Jager is a Wild Elf like her, but seeing how secretive the Mori are and how young she is, I'm thinking that she might not have encountered a Mori elf before and therefore can't really tell the difference.

Sound like something we can work with Najah?

Jager might look at her kinda funny if she tries talking to him like a kinsmen though. :)

Brains, I've been meaning to ask you: Is your char illusion or evocation? I understand that they are two different things. I just noticed that you were conjuring your own beer and was curious.

90% of his magic is pure illusion though he can cast a few minor spells that aren't. He wont be casting fireballs and summoning large creatures from thin air.... at least not real ones lol. But conjuring mugs of ale maybe sending small objects flying through the air or thrusting balls of air to make 'fireballs' feel real while his illusion aspect makes it look real. Just little things to enhance his illusion abilities.

LeoHawk can you reply again before I do so I know what your going to be doing. Or you can just give me an idea in here so I know. Thanks

EDIT:Never mind figured out something that works :)

Just before me. Dang. And also, if your wondering why Zelthuros can see through your illusion: becoming an undead requires a certain amount of magic placed into the body, either naturally or artificially. I also intened on making him a somewhat necromancer over time, but he hasn't developed that power quite yet.

No problem... anything thats undead and over 400 years old is bound to have some kind of potent magic.

But tell anyone what you see and watch out! lol kidding :p

Yeah...laughing at him is definately not a way to get on my char's good side. Haha.

Waiting for someone to post... :p

By the way Ganf nogard my characters alias when in his illusion form is just his name backwards.

Ganf Nogard
Dragon Fang

Had a burst of inspiration, so I wrote that.

Najah, if you would be so kind, I'd like to define what it is that Jager is offering in trade. The drink that Jager is referring to is a particularly rare delicacy, often only available to royalty as gifts or to people with plenty of gold to spare. It was highly unlikely that anyone who visited a common tavern would have been able to afford even a glass of the stuff, let alone get their hands on it. It also happens that the Belvarian Royal Brewery is just as human-centric as the rest of country, so it is even less likely for a non-human to get their hands on the stuff than it is for a human.

That'll help me set up my next post or two, with variations depending on Tala's reply. It also kinda helps reinforce Jager's human-like appearance, so the interactions to follow should be interesting.

Question. Leo would my character see yours as he comes back into the outskirts of the city?
