Shadow over Gerelden OOC

kk, thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind for my next post.

Thanks Najah. By the way, don't worry about not getting that post up right away. I'm gonna be busy with RL for awhile, but I'll try to find time to show up and post.

Oh, and good morning to ya, DK. Or should I say good evening?

Alrighty, back from my trip to D.C.

DK, yes he probably would if he enters through the market district, as that is where my char is right now.

*sighs* Details, details. I hadn't intended to give you any flak like I said I would in the Army Men thread, DK, but it seems you've put a bottle in Jager's hands on the counter that he hadn't brought into view yet. When I write, I write for details. I put in details that I intend for people to notice and I leave out details that people either aren't supposed to notice or possibly notice their specific absence. In this case, the fact that I hadn't put in the detail that Jager had pulled out a bottle was intended to be interpreted as that he hadn't pulled out a bottle.

Oh well. I guess I can have it so that he doesn't quite remember pulling out the bottle due to his intoxication.

Read the post before mine. Notice that a bottle is taken from Jager. DK wonders why the *&&%^& the ^*&%**(&&(*& bottle was %*^*&^(*&)(* taken from Jager if there is no (^(&)*)( bottle

Should I amend my post?

A couple things led to that response, but I should have asked for clarification. My bad.

Actually, DK had put up a post before you did Najah, and it was in that post that he indicated that Jager was holding a bottle on the counter.

He walked over to the bar counter and noticed that a human looking man was standing with a bottle of Belvarian ale from the Belvarian Royal Brewers, if his eyes read the label on it correctly, now that was interesting, but he was sure that it was not stolen, if it was the man would not have stood there with it on display,

Straight from the last sentence of the post in question, post number 26 in the IC.

By the way DK, what's with all the symbols?

And there's no need to change your post Najah, or yours DK. I've already said I was going to have it so that Jager didn't remember pulling out the bottle. That tends to happen with drunks.

I find it interesting that word of the tavern reached a human's ears...It's a wonder the entire city guard isn't busting down the door right now with all the oblivious conversation about it going on in the streets. Well, I guess they have their iPods in, hmm?

OK Leo let me put it this way. Non-humans will tell each other about the tavern, some humans overhear it say like a thief, or a beggar and they tell somebody they trust. It's a low level rumor among the people, somebody who is loved by the crowds and known to be a bit open minded may hear this. He sees it as a place to find information about something that interests him. He does some browbeatin, questioning, bribing and get the location.

Now somebody goes to the city guard (policement and blabs about this tavern, the police starts to walk around questioning people. They clam up and deny having any knowledge, without proof they can't rough up the locals and thus they get nowhere. Repeat process a few times and the Police takes on the attitude of, They don't bother us so we don't bother them.

That is how it works in 80% of the fantasy books I read and this is a fantasy thread correct? I base what I know on the things I read that makes sense to me.

[EDIT] Oh and Jedi, it would be kinda hard to cut a trade without actually showing your goods. Think prostitute and you will get my point :) Night every one

*bows and leaves centre stage...exit left*

T'was a joke, DK. But you are correct, that is most likely how this would work. In this situation, however, non-humans are very illegal, especially in the city. Something like this would get a very thorough search, not just a questioning of the citizens. I would have appreciated it if you could explain how you got the information rather than just "heard talk of".

You see what I mean with it? It's alright, really, but I would prefer it if you could explain a little more.

DK, this is not my first go with RPs. I know what I'm doing. Just because I hadn't put in the first post that he had brought out the bottle doesn't mean I had no intention of producing the bottle. Hell, I even had a description for the damn thing that I was going to use when it was time to show the goods. I plan things out, sometimes several posts in advance, but when someone brings in a human to a non-human bar that said human isn't supposed to know exists (let alone the location), and said human notices a bottle that wasn't supposed to be out in the open to be noticed, it kinda fucks with my plans.

So, please don't pull that kind of nonsense again. Unless I explicitly state something, i.e., the bottle being on the counter, it sure as hell ain't on the counter, so don't go saying it's on the counter. As I said earlier, I'm very deliberate with what I put in my posts and what I don't put in my posts.

Comprende?

Hi guys, I PMed LeoHawk about the possibility of joining the RP. Here's my character profile:

Name: Harold
Race: Human
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Personality: A level-headed and easy going man. Harold did not seek to be the centre of attention, yet was sociable and generally friendly. His line of work had toughened him up but he was by no means ruthless. He had a strong sense of duty and could be depended on by his superiors to get the job done, although he did not always agree with their methods.
Role: A former member of the town guard, he was now under the employ of Detrol's top tier authorities - trained as an elite soldier.
Appearance: 6 foot 4 and of a muscular build, Harold's appearance suggests that of a man who can handle himself. He has a defined jawline and strong chin. He sports a closely trimmed, full black beard. His eyes are a rich chocolate colour. A ruggedly handsome face.
Equipment: Over his clothes he wears a suit of chainmail, covering the entire area from his head down to his thighs. He is armed with a heavy steel sword that he keeps in a battered sheath at his side. His hands are protected by iron gloves.
Bio: Harold had been working as a member of Detrol's town guard for several years when one day he received a summons from a high ranking soldier in the Detrolian army. It was then that Harold left the town guard and was trained as a soldier, but not by no means a regular soldier. He was inducted into an elite branch, charged with "dealing" with illegal non-humans. They were told to follow no code or laws - they effectively operated outside of the law and were expected to do whatever was necesssary to rid Detrol of non-human monsters. This handful of soldiers did not exist, officially and publicly speaking. However, rumours of their existence were wide-spread and many suspicious disappearances of non-humans were attributed to them. There were as many names for them as there were hushed stories of their numerous activities. However, they had become widly known as the "White Hand".

I'll wait for approval before I post anything in the IC, cheers!

Good to have you back, DK.

Now then, I suppose I should post a little notice here. If you have a problem with something that someone does in the IC, please just PM them about it to attempt to solve it. There's no need to openly torch them in the OOC. If a solution can't be reached via PM, I should be contacted for the problem to be fixed. I will be fair, don't worry.

Jedi, the PM idea is a really good thing for you. To be honest, it did anger me a little in the other thread because you did the same to me that you did DK. Now I admitted my mistake and apologized to the entire thread for it. I expect an apology from you to DK for your actions. You can just put in your next post the description of the bottle, so don't go off on a rage rant, please.

DK, you probably should have fixed your post when he brought up your mistake and come up with a better reason to know about the tavern. I also expect an apology from you to Jedi.

Sound fair?

I believe that I did fix my posts, if there is something missing please let me know. Jedi I'm sorry, I made a mistake and didn't want to accept the fact. Guys and gals, sorry for behaving like an idiot, I'll work on doing better.

Sorry for the delay. Been busy with school and whatnot.

DK and I have already come to an understanding and made amends via PM. As for a "rage rant," I haven't had one yet, Leo. But when and if I do, there will be no doubt as to what it is. That last OOC post from me was more of a frustrated, "why are we still arguing this?" rant, rather than a rage rant.

Anyways, let's keep going with the IC.

Oh, and by the way, I'm working on my post for the SW thread as well, because like I said, it'll sleep for a bit, but not die. Not sure when the post will be up, but it will be in due time.

Seemed quite like a rage rant to me, but hey, whatever you say. Let's just move on.

Figured it was about time for me to post, as I just noticed how long ago it was since I did. Moving along...

I wonder what's up with Najah. She hasn't been on since Jan 21. Her character is kinda important at the moment.

Indeed she is. I hope she'll be getting back soon. Don't want this to turn into Ancalimon's thread.

Was really dissapointed that went dark, by the way. Was enjoying myself.

Well, it's been over a month since Najah was last online, and I kinda need a reply from her character before I can write up a post, provided of course, that we're still doing this story.

Ideas? Suggestions?
