I know there are tons of questions posted about shaving all the way, so bare with me on this one.
I have been shaving completely for several years now, and it's worked well for me. It's pretty easy and quick now and my husband loves it.
But lately I've been yearning to have a little more down there. I wanted to try and shape it into something basic like a landing strip or something. But, every time I've tried it doesn't look right or I mess it up or for whatever reason, and I get frustrated and just shave the whole damn thing.
So my question is, does anyone have any tips for shaping what you've got?

*edited because immediately after posting I noticed the joke in the first line, not intentional

the only thing i can suggest is how i work with my beard/goatee stuff. give yourself something to work with (let it all grow in a bit) then use a trimmer to sort of create some boundaries and then shave up to those boundaries, leaving the "shape" you've outlined.

Some at-home bikini wax kits have little cardboard shapes (like hearts and stars). Apparently you trim the shape to fit the area you want to keep hair on and then remove the hair around it.

I'm sure you could make your own guides/shapes.

I have no advise for you as I'm having (have had) the same trouble... I will watch this thread with interest.

Thank you

I like the idea of making a shape to use, but I usually shave in the shower so any suggestions for what I could use?
I had actually considered trimming then using eyeliner to make the shape, but with the water I wasn't sure if it would work, but I guess I could at least try!

It might work with waterproof eyeliner. I've never tried it, though, so I don't know.

Why not try siting on a towel and triming it to shape. That way clean up would be easy.
I find trimming when the hair is dry easier then when it is wet. Might work with shaping hair too.

Look around the kitchen and house for an easily cut piece of plastic. The top of one of those flip-top containers that fruit and bakery items come in would work, as would a styrofoam take-out container (or you could ask your meat counter person for an extra tray).

Or a coffee or other tin's plastic lid?

How about cutting a piece out of the "snap together" packaging (the kind small electronics, appliances, and even larger packs of batteries come in that are a real bitch to open)?

If you're going to trim with clippers, or even if you don't stand under the water, a heavier and/or coated cardboard should work fine.

There are waterproof eyeliners (Revlon's Colorstay lash tint/mascara doesn't come off, so I'm guessing their liners are just as hearty), or I be a fine point permanent marker would work fine and either be hidden or come off with a little work.

Cookie cutters will help you make a shape and are more durable then cardboard. You or a partner could hold it in place and just shave around the cutter

I am not sure if someone asked this yet but- why? What happened to the good old days of landing strips or nothing at all....

Kids...lol

Can't help but art-direct

I work as a designer and it frustrates me if i trim and it's lopsided or un even (I think I need more orgasms in my life!). So, standing in front of a mirror, i draw the shape, with dots, that i want in the end. I use a fine point Sharpie. I sit on the edge of the tub and trim to the line. Stand up check in the mirror and make any adjustments. Once i'm okay with the new layout, I stand up and shower off. Finishing with lots of baby oil to guard against bumps.

That's how I do it. A little soap and rubbing and the Sharpie washes right off.
