I am involved in scouting....I train adult leaders, specifically adults for cub scout aged boys. I recently taught two different 45-minute sessions on games I made up, and did another 45-minute session on magic....it's just fun to give ideas and see the fun show thru....

Dorky. I love that!

I assist young adults with special needs in learning job skills to help them become more independent ...

I'm a big supporter of breast cancer awareness since it affects both men and women... both sexes battle breast cancer not only as battle scarred survivors but supporters of their loved ones who fight it. Although there have been great advancements against this disease, there's still a ways to go.

Since radiation and chemotherapy ravages all cancer patients bodies, their bone marrow and red blood cells can also be affected. Although they may be a long time survivor against cancer, suddenly they can be faced with their bodies not working the way they should and it's sometimes a delayed response to intense treatment they went thru for their cancer. This is true for all cancer survivors, not just breast cancer... ovarian cancer, colon cancer, leukemia, etc. They are faced with needing transfusions because their bone marrow is exhausted and not producing any red blood cells. Many times they need a bone marrow transplant in order to replenish the marrow and ensure healthy red blood cell regeneration.

That being said, I would urge everyone to take a look at this website... read it, ask questions, and give much consideration to joining the registry. Cancer affects people of ALL ages and your healthy bone marrow might just be the match needed to enjoy their life just that much more.
