I am thinking about shaving my balls and genital area. guys have you ever done it before and how long does it take to grow back. women- does it turn you on to see a shaved guy??

I can't say it matters to me whether a man has shaved or not, but I'll tell you a good friend of mine started shaving a few years ago and he REFUSES to let it grow back! He absolutely loves it.

So I guess to me it's more about what YOU want, rather than what a prospective partner might like. If you don't have a partner right now, once you do I'm sure she'll let you know her preferences if you ask. ;)

You don't need to shave your balls. My boyfriend shaves his cock and it feels nice. As long as you don't let it get stubbly because that's just wrong. My boyfriend has said that he has been shaving his for about 10 years. Now, he puts some of that Jergen's hair minimizer lotion on it and that helps in between shaves. So yes, it is nice to see a freshly shaven cock because if a guy wants his woman to be clean, then he should do the same. It's nice not to gag because you have hair in your mouth when you are blowing him. But that's JMHO.

So that stuff really works? I've often wondered about that.

Hair doesn't necessarily imply lack of cleanliness.

I don't shave my balls smooth. I have found that if i do that my scrotum tends to stick to my legs. So i leave just a little bit of hair which seems to alleviate that problem. But I do shave the shaft of my penis.

My guy shaves ABOVE his penis, but not below. I'm trying to convince him to shave (or at least trim) below, and his balls...but he's scared of cutting himself.

He won't even let me do it for him (although he's shaved me) because he's worried about being cut.

*pout*

I disagree...balls are much more lickable and suckable when there's little to no hair.

And DarkMuse, tell him to stop being such a baby ;) ...my hubby's never had a cut by his hand or mine, and it's really easy if he pulls the skin taut while you do the shaving. Clippers can get hot and catch the skin, but most of the time the balls don't have enough hair for them to be strictly necessary.

Oh very nice Erika!

I shave my balls but that's it. Not above (I think that looks silly). And I don't know about the other guys, but I don't have any hair on my shaft that needs trimming!

They are actually much easier to shave than you think. I shave in the shower and it's pretty quick and I never cut myself. Just make sure the skin is tight and you should have no problems. I also find that when I shave, the hair is slow to come back and does not clome back thincker or more course as you might expect. I guess I'm lucky that I don't have any problems (itching or sticky balls).

And while I have never sucked on a pair of clean shaven balls as Erika has, I can tell you that I lOVE having mine licked and sucked. And yes, they are MUCH more sensitive when shaved. Definitiely worth the minimal amount of effort.

See that's the same way I feel about the female anatomy. It's not so much the visual impact of a bare pussy that's appealing to me, but the, as you said, lickability. As far as sensitivity goes, there's definitely an increase in sensitivity with the the shaft and balls are shaved.

I have in fact cut myself, the first time I did this. Pull the skin taut, that's the key. Also use a good sharp razor. I use a Mach 3 triple blade, myself. The part about clippers is true, they do catch the skin. My wife just got one of those Bikini Touch clipper thingies and I used that to get most of the longer hairs off last time. It worked great as a prep for the razor.

I never have been brave enough to let my wife do it for me though. Funny, I'll trust her with my life while walking across a lighting truss, but I won't let her have a sharp object near my johnson.

I do have another question though, this might be helpful to the orignial poster so I'll perpetrate a slight hijack here. Being fairly active, I've found that when I sweat in the days following shaving the itch as the hair starts to grow back get's pretty intense. I quite shaving, actually, because I play hockey during the winter. There's nothing worse than being out there on the ice under all that padding and having your nuts start itching.

Exactly!!! Oooh...I forgot about sensitivity...that's the best part! :D

Yeah, those little trimmers are fantastic, and eliminate the catching issue. We needed a new one, and I bought the Remington 5-in-1 Beauty Kit for just a few dollars more than the trimmer alone. The fine clippers on it work great with less catching, it's small, rechargeable, sturdy, and wet/dry.

I was the opposite...wouldn't let hubby get near me, but it was mainly because I do it in the shower, and he wears glasses, and the thought of a blind man wielding a razor didn't excite me. So recently, we got a hot washcloth and a glass of water, used clear no-lather shave gel, and took turns laying on the bed and shaving each other. We both turned out great, so maybe you'd be willing to try that with her.

I've heard a couple of remedies for this. First, talcum powder. You can use the "medicated" Goldbond-type powder, but regular baby powder or I'm guessing even cornstarch work just great. I've had the same issue, and it seems to nearly eliminate the problem.

People also use antiperspirant for this. I may have tried it at some point, but I can't remember. I'd use a solid unscented like Sure because it's mild, cheap, and has staying power.

Edit: If you don't now, you might want to consider a quick once-over everyday (or as frequently as possible) as well. That alone pretty much eliminates the problem for me, but I'd imagine if you combine it with the powder or antiperspirant, you'd be completely set.

As a woman, I find it irritating. Not only does it look unattractive, but the stubs hurt my kitty when I ride the pony.

Totally agree.

I mean, I like the look of it and all but unless he keeps it skin smooth at all times, those little stubbly hairs are like 1000 needles pricking you.

Hmm... I might have to try one of these, especially if it's wet/dry. Thanks for the tip.

Well, she definitely prefers if I do the honors for her. She says it's easier, but I think it just turns her on. Not that I'm complaining, but I sure was nervous the first time I did it. I had visions of slipping and not getting any for a month! :D

For normal wear and tear, so to speak, this might work, but I don't think it would have the staying power for a hockey game. I play goalie, so by the end of the night I'm soaked through like I just went swimming. I lose 5-6 pounds of water weight during the course of a game. I don't think the antiperspirant would even make a dent. Still, I might give the Gold-bond a try. This was really just an excuse to avoid the embarassment of being in a hockey locker room with shaved balls. My wife made a good point though, she said if someone says something, just ask em why their looking at you package. I couldn't argue with that logic. :p

Absolutely, but this goes both ways too. You can't forget the maintenance factor or you're gonna get some, um, irritation. It was many many years ago, but I'll never forget the first time my girlfriend and I both shaved. It was great that first night, but three days later it was less than impressive. I still remember the feeling of my balls bouncing off her stubbly mound. Kinda felt like I got hit in the scrotum with a boar full of spikes.

OK, so maybe it wasn't that bad adn the memory has intensified over the years, but it still wasn't fun. The moral of the story, shaving your privates is a commitment. Get it bare and keep it bare, or plan on letting it grow in for a few weeks.

Good point!!! When my hubby was in Wales, he mentioned shaving and his friends started harassing him about it, wondering why a guy would do such a thing. He said it made him look bigger, and more importantly, his girlfriend enjoyed giving blowjobs more (true, I do), which meant he got more of them (well, not really more, but hey). They understood that logic perfectly well, and apparently a few of them tried it out themselves. :D

Seriously people, use the Jergens hair minimizing lotion. It takes a little while to work, but when it starts to work it gives your guy a break because then he doesnt need to shave it every day.

I remember first going through puberty and it was intensly unpleasant for that reason. I hate my ass hair more than anything and wouldn't mind a few other spots being shorn but I cannot take the itching and pain. I have tried shaving once or twice and did the nair thing once and every time the following week or two was the most torturous experience I can imagine. It was also too sensitive to think of shaving for a good while afterwards. I don't plan on going through that again untill I can afford lazer hair removal.

Hmm I love that feeling! ;) But then again I'm the one who drags my fingernails over my clit when masturbating. I am quite rough with myself.

My guy shaves his and the stubble scratching feels nice.
