She Wolf (For Acal)

As she lay there beside him Shea could feel the animal urges moving through her body, the full moon was so close and it was becoming hard for her to fight her instincts with him so close to her. She couldn't help herself as she reached out and placed a hand on his chest. His skin was smooth but underneath it lay strong muscles that made a chill run down her spine and she tilted her head to look up to him. She could feel the urge to move forward to press her lips against his own but she fought against it. This wasn't want she wanted, she didn't want just any mate, she wanted someone that really knew her and loved her.

Shea sat up slowly leaning her upper body against the wall of her hut and she looked down at Marcus. She felt as if she needed to tell him who's name she had called out and what he was to her but if he wanted to know then she would make him ask. She wasn't going to volunteer information about herself because she wanted him to ask. Her stomach suddenly growled softly and she blushed moving a hand over it. She was about to get up and get her self something to eat until she remembered what happened just moments ago when she tired to walk so soon.

Shea hated this because she would have to ask for his help and she tried to bite back any hatred in her voice. "Can you do my a favor...if i try walking this soon i might pass out again and im in desperate need of food...can you get me some?" She said trying to sound as nice as possible despite the bile rising in her throat for having to ask him for help.

He bit back a groan, her hand on his chest set him on fire he had to go now or he'd do something seriously regrettable.

"Can you do my a favor...if i try walking this soon i might pass out again and im in desperate need of food...can you get me some?"

He grinned at her question, maybe she would accept him sooner then later if she was asking him for help. At least it would get him away from her alluring presense. "I'll be right back," he said, he turned away and winced at the huskyness his voice had taken. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable at all.

He walked over to the supply tent and gathered some food for her to eat. He took them back to her tent and stepped inside. "I got you these," he said. Cursing himself for his awkwardness.

Shea didn't pay him much attention as he left, she some how knew he wouldn't say no to her request but how husky his voice had become send another chill down her spine. She hated her self right now, she had built up such control over her urges but then again she had been alone and now that a male stayed as close to her as he did the wall she built where crumbling by every second that passed by. She had pulled her knees against her chest by the time he came back and her green eyes lock onto him as he entered her hut once more.

She pushed off the wall and crept to the end of the bed taking a seat on the corner. Shea reached out taking the fruit and bread he had grabbed for her. "Thank you..." she said just before biting into an apple and as she pulled a chunk of the meat from the core some of the juice began to drip down her chin. God help her some thoughts moved into her mind as she chew her bit of the apple. Shea imagined Marcus leaning forward and licking the juice off her skin. She stifled the thought as she moved her arm to wipe her chin and continued to eat the fruit.

This was driving her nuts, he needed to go and soon of she will doing something she will regret for the rest of her life. She finished her apple quickly her eyes had been on him the entire time not saying a word as she ate but now she broke the silence. "Your going to missing the hunting party if you don't hurry..." The males of the clan usually began hunting this time of day to bring meat back for dinner while the females attended to things in the village like washing clothes or taking care of the children. Shea usually like to help watch the children as they played in the woods and for some reason she was unusually good at art so she would teach them to draw.

He whimpered softly, he hoped she couldn't hear as she licked up the juice from the meat. Even watching her eat was giving him difficultly. Walking around in his state was hard, she had enflamed his senses. His skin felt as though it could burst into flames at any moment. There was no question he had to get away now before he lost it and threw her against the wall and took her.

Her soft words punctured the haze surrounding him, he stepped back and said, "Are you going to be ok now?" he asked.

Shea gave him a soft smile, "I will be fine...weak for a few hours but ive been through the treatment before i know not to push myself too much." To prove her point she slowly slipped off her bed and moved to her feet. She stood strong now on her own two feet and she moved to the other side of the hut to drop the core of her apple in a container to toss out later. "Thank you for getting me something to eat...I'm sure Aliah will be along soon to check on me. Go before you miss them..." She said in a rather pushie manner, she didn't trust her self around him any more and if he didn't leave soon something would happen either by her or him.

"Ok, I will see you tomorrow. We'll be breaking camp after lunch tomorrow and heading back to the city," he said. Marcus then made a quick exit, anxious to get away before he jumped all over her. His blood was fired, he needed to hunt now, he'd eat then spend the night chasing deer and rabbits. He needed something to occupy his time until the moon waned and he could actually think clearly enough to not hurt her.

He would put in his seduction efforts after they were back in the city, only human methods worked in seduction when trying to mate with an alpha. You must impress them if you had any chance, fighting didn't do anything for her it semed he would have to think of something more substantial to win her over.

Shea let out a large breath she had been holding the moment he left her hut and god did it feel better to have him out of there. With the two of them giving off hormones it made it hard for the both of them to keep from jumping on each other. She moved over to her bed now able to think clearly for once since she woke up and she began to eat the chunk of bread Marcus had given her. She had to take it easier on him, yes he did start everything off wrong by being the winner of the fight over her but he was doing everything she asked of him. Unlike any of the other males this close to the full moon they would of jumped her, forced themselves upon her and take advantage of her because she was their mate.

No, she knew he even left so quickly because he didn't want to do that. He was trying to do the very thing she asked of him, he was trying to get to know her and get her to like him. "Oh god Shea control yourself..." She said softly to her self as she finished the hunk of bread and quickly left her hut. She stopped first off at the healer's hut to have her change and treat her wound and then she spent some time with the children teaching them a few new things she had been trying out.

The day seemed to go by so quickly because as she looked up to the sky as a body next to her drew on his paper she could already seen the sun beginning to set. Shea sighed softly as one by one the mothers came and got their children to get ready for their run under the full moon. She stood from the rock she had been sitting on and began her long walk up at hill where she had spent the last full moon far away from the village. She began to make a fire as the last bit of the sun disappeared behind the earth and she could already hear the sounds of the clan off in the distance. She sighed softly as she tossed another log onto her fire and she pulled a blanket over her shoulders.

She winced gently, the moon called out to her putting every nerve in her body on edge to answer the moon's call but still her body remained as it was except for her eyes. They had changed into the deep blue of her wolf form as she looked up to the mother moon, her body ached in every muscle and every joint but still she remained. All she could to was sit there looking up at the sky as she listened to the others running through the thick woods.

His heart has hammering in his chest, the smell of the frightened beasts out in front of him was exhilarating. He had already fed for the night, but now he was looking for some fun as his claws dug into the soft earth. His paws skimming across pebbles and twigs. His eyes gleamed a bright copper/gold color as he scented out the fleeing animals.

A sharp pervasive scent tore through his senses. He turned quickly and snarled, he couldn't see anything but he could see the wavy plume of smoke barely distinguishable as it rose. He took off towards the smoke as the scent got stronger and an orange gold light started to become visible. Another scent hit him and he roared charging towards the light, his mate was in danger.

Shea pulled her knees into her chest now as she sat besides the fire and she lay her head on them. The urge to change ripped through every muscle in her body paining her, usually during the full moon one of her kind changed whether they liked it or not so now that she couldn't an ache filled her body. She just had to ignore it, this wasn't her first time having to sit through a full moon and she just hopped that this would be the last time she had to go through this torture.

For a while the only scent that filled her nose was the smell of the fire but suddenly something familiar caught her noise and her head turned quickly of to her right. She growled loudly now, it was Marcus in his wolf form, from spending time with him she knew his scent and she wondered if he had changed his mind. She would be damned if she would let him have his way with her so she pulled a stick from the fire that was still lit and aimed it at him as he came out of the woods. "Stay away from me Marcus...i swear if you try and force yourself upon me i will kill you before you can make a move."

He peeled his ears back and stepped back, he didn't want to upset her. He wanted to protect her, something had tracked her. It was waiting here. He wouldn't go anywhere not while there was something circling her. He caught the scent again and growled, it was very close by, he could smell it now, it was an invader. The rest of the pack was too far away to be any assistance.

They probably couldn't even smell the intruder he hadn't been with them, he turned and snarled as a black shape hurtled out of the darkness and slammed into him its claws slshing into him. He yelped and backed up trying to get a clean shot on the alpha wolf that had come barrelling out of the trees. He charged and slammed into the wolf digging his fangs into his rump.

Shea grew confused as Marcus' ears peeled back and he took a step back. If he was here to take advantage of her he wouldn't be acting in such a passive manner. He growled at something in the darkness of the trees and it was then that she picked up the other's scent. By the time she had noticed it was too late and the wolf jumped from its hiding place onto Marcus. Her eyes quickly changed to her vibrant blue, her fangs extended from her mouth and her nails grew out into sharp points as the intruder and Marcus began to fight.

She sat there on all fours watching to the two of them, Shea tried to think of anything she could do to help but in her human form she would get hurt more then anything. It was then that the unknown male's scent became familiar to her, pain suddenly filled her mind as the memory recalled it's self in her mind and the face of the other mate that fought of her came to the surface. "Devan?" she said in a pained voice and the black wolf seemed to pause a moment before continuing his attack on Marcus.

Was she mistaken? She knew she wasn't the moment she smelt his blood in the air, "DEVAN STOP IT..." Shea demanded as her head began to hurt her even more then before, she quickly changed all the way back into her human form once more and both her hands moved to her head clutching it harshly as she screamed out in pain. "I told you i don't want you as my mate...all you want me for is a prize...you don't care for me nor love me..." Shea fell down onto her side now curling up into a ball as pain racked her body, more and more of her memories began to roll free from her mind like seeing Devan pulled the plug in a drain and now they were all rushing out. Her weak body couldn't take any more of this and a few moments later she passed out once more.

Marcus furiously roared as he heard the name again, he slashed at the attacker again and again not letting him in for an attack. As he swiped at his leg, Devon yelped and backed off before fleeing back into the trees.

Marcus stumbled slightly then collapsed onto the ground, his eyes not focusing as he saw Shea collapse. He groaned and panted as he dragged himself closer to her body. He felt powerless to do anything he was bleeding pretty badly as he dragged himself towards the campfire.

For a few moments Shea lay there motionless until her nose began to pick up the scent of blood in the air and slowly she began to wake up. She lifted her head weakly and as she saw Marcus dragging himself towards her leaving a trail of blood behind him she sat up quickly. She moved over to him stopping his movements, "Stop Marcus you will open the wounds more..." She pulled her t-shirt off quickly not not caring that i left her topless and she began to rip the fabric into strips to begin to bandage his wounds.

Fear began to fill her now as she looked over his wounds, they were deep and he was bleeding badly. If she didn't get him to the village quick i might die but they were so far away, if only she could transform she could get him there so much quicker then in her human. Shea looked up at the full moon now hopping that the simple act would make her shift but still she sat there in her flesh and it made her let out a deep growl. She moved her head to look down at him again and moved her hand through his fir as she moved his head carefully onto his lap. "You didn't have to fight him Marcus...he wouldn't hurt me...im a prize to him that he wants undamaged..." She moved her bottom lip between her teeth now as she closed her eyes and tried to will her self to change.

She needed to do this, if she didn't change now she never would and Marcus might die because of her. "Goddness help me..." She said softly as she pushed even harder flexing her muscles to force herself to change and then suddenly a pain filled her body as she began to shift. It was the silver still left in her body, it sent pain through her body trying to get her to stop but she pushed through the pain. Her body shifted slowly until a snow white wolf with bright blue eyes stood there looking down at Marcus. Shea let out a soft howl and moved her self under him to lift him onto her back. With in moments Shea took off into the woods carefully making sure he didn't fall of her back and soon they made their way into the healers tent.

The healer didn't say a word as she saw the condition Marcus was in, other's joined her to help lift him onto the table and she set to work treating and wrapping his wounds. Shea sat there in her wolf form to afraid to transform into her human, she feared that once she shifted back she wouldn't be able to transform again so she watched from her seat on the ground as the old woman worked.

Marcus was trapped in his wolf body he was too weak to summon the energy to change back. He moaned with every jolt he took as Shea carried him, he felt so pathetic. He wasn't fit to be her mate, he couldn't even defend her against a mangy mutt. The atmosphere changed suddenly as he was deposited on a warm sheet.

He panted roughly as the pain continued to spear through his body. He groaned as his skin was wiped with something that burned. He was completly sapped of energy, his head swam as he rested against the sheet as blackness enfolded him.

"Shea were all happy you can shift into your wolf form now but we need your help..." She whimpered softly and it was then that the healer looked at her, "If you can transform now you can again don't worry..." Shea sighed softly and clenched her muscles to shift back into her human form. She reached out grabbing a sheet and tying it around her body. She was stained with Marcus' blood in several places and it made guilt move through her. If it wasn't for her and her past he wouldn't be hurt right now.

She moved to where his head lay, he was still in his wolf form which meant he was too weak to shift back and it only served to make her feel worse. She moved her fingers through his fir now and rubbed his ears to relax him. "Don't worry Marcus you will be just fine i promise..." She said as his eyes began to close, she looked to the healer worried but she just told her he passed out. She was relieved and she watched as the rest of his wounds were bound. "He just needs rest to let his body heal his wounds and tomorrow he should be completely healed...you Shea are the only one that ive ever seen heal so slow and thats because of the silver...these are just normal fighting wounds that will be gone as the sun rises but he will be a bit weak...now to check on your wound."

Shea sat down on a nearby chair as the woman removed her own bandage and she was surprised at what she had found. The wound in her chest was almost completely healed, it had seemed that Shea had gotten rid of the last bit of silver in her system in order to save Marcus' life and the woman held a sly smile along her lips. "Use the extra bed and get some sleep...you look like you need it." Shea nodded her head slowly and laid down on the bed curling her legs up to her chest. For a while she simply lay there looking at Marcus but soon her eyes grew heavy and she drifted off into sleep.

Slowly he drifted back to conciousness. The fur over his body receeding as he changed back, he leaned back on the table and groaned. He was so sore every single part of his body ached. He lifted his heavy eyes and found Shea sprawled out on the bed. He whimpered as he saw the blood stains all over her body.

He slid off the bed and winced as pain shot through his body, he stepped over to her and caught the scent of blood, his blood. He looked at her again and found that all the blood was from him. And considering where he was, she had carried him here, he wasn't fit to be her mate.

He wasn't strong enough, he wasn't worthy of her. Despair crushed him like a heavy iron weight, he slinked out of the tent and went into his and collected some clothes for himself and slowly painfully dressed. He was leaving now, if he couldn't support his mate. He didn't deserve to be around her.

Shea had never slept so well in weeks, she could finally change and she regained every memory she had lost even the night that she was shot by the hunter. She woke slowly at the sound of someone moving around in the room and her eyes opened in time to see Marcus walk out of the tent. She sat up slowly picking up the scent of blood on herself and she looked down at her covered in Marcus' blood as she wrapped a sheet around her self. Shea slipped off the bed and walked out of the tent following a few steps behind Marcus.

She walked into his tent now watching him as he slowly dressed him self and she moved to help him with his shirt. "You shouldn't be moving around to much this soon...your wounds still need time to heal..." She said as she held the sheet tightly around her body to keep herself covered, "Marcus...thank you for saving me last night...but i have to warn you Devan doesn't take losing well...he will be back for me." Shea sighed softly and moved over to sit carefully onto his bed making sure she didn't get blood on it, "I should tell you what all of this is about now that i remember everything...i ran away from home the day Devan won his fight to claim me as a mate but i rejected him because all he wanted me for was a prize...to have the most beautiful female of my clan as his mate and one of the few alpha females...he is the leader of my clan back in Ireland...i just sorry i dragged you into all of this...i should of taken care of him rather then lead him here..."

"I'm not worthy of being your mate, you had to carry me here like I was a pathetic weakling. You'll find a mate who's stronge enough to be your mate." He said depressed he picked up his bag and brushed passed her and bit back a moan. She was his mate but he wasn't anywhere near worthy enough for her. It was best that he left now, got back to the city then he wouldn't have to see her again until the next full moon.

His stomach was tying itself in knots he didn't want to leave but he knew he had to, she wouldn't accept him as a mate now after what happened. He made his way towards the trees that hid the path back to the street. Her enchanting scent haunted him as it floated around him. He probably wouldn't ever get over her, she could look after herself he thought.

Shea was almost in shock at his words and how he brushed past her out of his tent. He picked up his bag on the way out and she wondered just where he was going. She stood up quickly to walk out after him, he was giving up already because she had to carry him back to the camp. She stopped a few feet from him now, "You men are all alike...your the reason i left my last clan because all you worry about is you dumb alpha male shit. You have to be tough enough to protect your mate prove yourself to her...well if i wanted that crap i would of stayed with my old clan and mated with Devan." The other clan members began to poke their heads out of their tents now to see what was going on because Shea's anger could easily be heard in her voice.

"You get a few scratches so now you run away with your tail between your legs because you lost...let me tell you something Marcus...ive seen a lot of men go up against Devan and not one of them have survived...the simple fact that your alive should tell you something but all you can see is the fact that you lost...so fine run off but know this im not going to sit around waiting for you." Shea turned her back to him now and stormed off into her own tent to grab some clothing. As quickly as she had walked into her tent she walked out and into the woods in the direction of the lake. She couldn't believe this, she had forced her self through the pain of the silver that poisoned her body the change and save him just for him to run off. Well fine she didn't need him one bit and what a loss he was since she didn't even really know him.

Shea made her way to the lake quickly dropping her clean clothing on the sand and she peeled away the bloody sheet. She stepped into the water and then dove under to feel the cool water envelope her body. She stayed under for a while before surfacing and letting her body float on the surface. She let out a frustrated sound and she looked up at the bright blue sky. Idiot, was all she could really think and she began to ask herself why she even cared that he was running off because she could more then take care of Devan if he returned for her.

He took off running through the trees, he needed to escape. Needed to run, he wanted her badly, the wolf that he had fought had been so much stronger then Anthony. His wounds pulled and stretched as some began to bleed again. Soon he had to stop and rest against a tree, he was weak right now. His wolf side had complete control of his emotions, the thought of his mate with another wolf sent sharp spears of pain impaling him all over.

He lifted his head and howled, his head was a mess, he couldn't think straight at all. His wolf didn't think himself worthy, but he desperatly wanted to be. He hadn't have to deal with these instincts before, they were a hindrance. He wished he hadn't met her this way, if he had met her away from the moon he could have forced the wolf back. But it was too strong when he claimed her.

He stood up deciding what he was going to do, he was going to claim her and force her to accept him as her mate one way or another. He had to fight past the depression the wolf was in and get what he wanted.

Shea's head came out of the water as the sound of a wolf's howled echoed through the forest and she knew it was him with out even taking a second to think about it. Why the hell was it bothering her so much that he was running away, the man was nothing but a coward and she didn't want someone like him as her mate. She ignored him now pushing him out of her mind as she began to wash his blood from her body and when she was finally clean she swam to shore. She walked up the beach to stand beside her pile of clothing and she twisted her long hair to get as much of the water out of her long locks.

She was about to get dress until she thought of an alternative and she flexed her muscles willing herself to change into her wolf form. She stood there on her fir as white as snow and she shook gently to dry herself off from being in the lake. Her soft blue eyes looked around for a moment trying to figure out what she wanted to do first now that she could change once more. It was then out of the corner of her eye she saw a young deer and she thought it was about time she tested out her speed once more. Shea wasn't built like normal alpha females, instead of a large body and strength her wolf form was slender and with that came great speed. She was known to be the fastest hunter in her old clan out running even the leader which Devan never took to kindly too but then again she didn't care about hurting that beast of a man's pride.

With a shift of her weight on her paws Shea took off after the deer that saw her the moment she took off and Shea knew this was going to be one hell of a run. Shea didn't want to kill the animal only see if she could match the young deer's speed and the two of them run through the trees the deer a few feet in front of Shea. God it felt wonderful to finally feel the wind through her snow white fur once more and she could honestly saw she had never felt this happy in her life before now.

He caught track of her scent and quickly followed it, he brushed through the trees until the landscape changed to soemthing more familiar, he was here yesterday after he won the fight. He pushed through the last of the trees and came across an embankment. He looked across the lake and grinned. She was here.

He walked around the edge of the lake until he came across the blood stained sheet and a pile of her clothes. She was out there in her wolf form, he couldn't help but grin. She was going to be alright then. Finally she had managed to shift he thought. He sat his bag down next to a tree and tugged his shirt off then stripped off his pants and shoes. He dropped down to the ground and changed.

He pushed his nose to the soft soil and snifed, deer and Shea made up the scents. She was playing with the deer he thought, he needed to catch up to her. They needed to talk. He took off at a run into the trees following the scent trail she had left.

Shea moved through the trees quickly, she was going faster then she had ever remembered and at times she slowed down so the deer could put some distance between them. She only caught up with in seconds and for a while she was doing it simply for a goal as she ran. After a few moment her running slowed until it stopped and she watched the deer disappear into the trees. She sat there now in her wolf form barely panting but she could hear her heart pounding softly in her chest and for a while she simple sat there listening to the sounds of the forest.

When she felt she had enough she turned in the direction she had come from and began to back track. She didn't know this forest as well as she did the one back home so she had to follow her own scent back. Suddenly she picked up another scent a familiar one and it confused her. It was Marcus but she thought he was running off with his tail between his legs so when he started to get closer she stopped to sit down and wait for him to see what he was up too.

Her scent was strong here, he knew he'd find her soon. He sped up and brushed through the trees, a flash of white caught his eyes. He grinned he'd found her, he put on an added burst of speed and crashed into her tackling her to the ground. Nuzzling his nose against her neck he licked her.

He was confident that this approach would be a way to prove to her that he wouldn't be controlled by his instincts except when the moon was around it couldn't be helped then.

What happened next Shea didn't expect at all. She knew Marcus was growing closer because his scent was growing stronger as the moments passed by but she expected him to step out into the little area she was in not run into her. He knocked her down onto the ground and began to nuzzle his nose into her neck as he licked her. It was nice to be able to play in her wolf form again but this was weird to her because he acted like she had except him as her mate. She wasn't ready to do something like that yet, she still didn't really know a lot about him and to have him act so personal with him confused her.

Shea slowly moved out from underneath him now putting some distance between them and quickly she changed back into her human form. Her jade green eyes watched him carefully as she stood there in only her skin which wasn't unusual for Lycans since they spent half the life naked. She moved to lean against a tree and she crossed her arms over her chest as she stood there. "I thought you were leaving...something change your mind?" She asked with a raised brow now and uncrossed her arms to run her fingers through her long hair.
