Perhaps they can get one more short-term stopgap spending agreement while the furor over Trump’s remarks dies down. But there’s no guarantee he won’t say something horrid again. That risk is part of the price Republicans will continue to pay for bending the knee to their president in exchange for his signature on the tax and budget legislation and the executive orders killing generations of health, environmental, labor, and safety regulations their donors and ideologues want and need.

They’ll never be safe from his loose lips and his Twitter feed.

Over the DACA crowd? Politically the offense is going to come back with, "The democrats want to shut down the government in defense of illegal aliens!" The democrats are going to leave themselves wide open if they go down that road and their actions up to this point clearly show that they know it.

Trump has clearly signaled that he's willing to give the DACA crowd that has no criminal history a pass. In return he wants the border secured, an end to open ended immigration by association, and a merit based system. All of those agenda items are reasonable.

The democrats are better served by taking what they can get on DACA and leaving the budget battle to be fought on it's own merits. At least re. the budget they can claim legitimate differences without having to defend the lawless.

The 'egalitarians' (communists and their wannabe's) blame all the strife in Africa on 'Colonialism.' And to a certain extent that was true. Most of the current leaders in Africa are behaving exactly in the same manner that they think the colonial governors did. And while it's undeniably true that the colonial powers did exploit the natural resources of those nations, tribal warfare was essentially ended. The post colonial period is awash in blood, still is. They are behaving in precisely the same manner as those that blame everyone but themselves for their plight in life no realizing that they're copying the model of that which they purport to hate. Eventually, one hopes, they'll find their way. But for the time being that is not the case and they have their own view of how the world works, a view that's immiscible with western (and Asian) mainstream culture and law.
