Shoe Porn; A New Beginning of More

I'm so happy that I have cobbler close to my house. I always repair my shoes/belts/bags. I still have a pair of sandals since 2002, which I simply adore. now I need to change the leather around the heels. It's not easy to find the right color but I am not going to give up. I ain't throwing those away. :D

Yes, belts too - forgot about those!! Actually have about 6 of my wife's belts in his hands currently. She lost weight and needed to be able to get them tighter. Now, many run-of-the-mill cobblers may just add holes and cut off the non-buckle end, but that will look strange with holes going to the end of the belt. My cobbler removed the buckle end, shortens the belt on the buckle end and re-stitches buckle.

Ladies, even if you aren't fortunate enough to have a good cobbler close by, it is well worth mailing projects to a good one. The skill levels do vary greatly, as it, along with well-made shoes, is a dying art. The one I use is 2+ hours from me - I will drive or mail shoes to him. He truly is one of the best, winning awards in international competitions. I will try to get some photos of his work for here.
