When one side ("the right") is composed entirely of openly racist / racist tolerant scum, and the other side (everybody else) is composed of decent, intelligent individuals, there are NOT “very fine people on both sides”.
DonOld saying there were “very fine people” representing "the right" (one side) at the Charlottesville “Unite The Racists” rally WARRANTED contempt and accusations that DonOld was dog whistling to fellow racists by saying “there were very fine people on BOTH sides”.

Here's one for the books. Eric tells Rapey he should read his own cites. Rapey responds by making it plain as day that he has indeed not read his cite, only the headline thereof.
And we've been over this issue literally dozens of times. All Trump had to do was condemn the white supremacists and leave it at that, and then his supporters would be in the right on this one. But he just had to throw that bone to his supporters, as always. The man absolutely is not capable of condemning people he perceives as supporting him, no matter how deplorable they are.
As for dogwhistle politics, of course the people it's aimed at don't understand how it works. If they did, it wouldn't work.
