Showing off my quilts!

Seri
They are stunning. Really stunning.

Time and again you amaze me with your thoughts and words and now you have succeeded with your skills.

What an amazing woman you are

Absolutely gorgeous. My favorites are the fourth and sixth ones. I too have learned to quilt, but my work doesn't even compare to yours. What a beautiful job...and to be able to get so many done in such a short time...amazing.

I think all i've done for the past year is quilt! I only learned about a year and a half ago or so. My mom is addicted to it too and we've made so many quilts and hangings in the past year its crazy...but so much fun to have something like that to share with mom too.

Wow! Those are gorgeous! You have fantastic talent, serijules. I especially like the red/black one.

seri, your quilts are perfection! Some of the patterns are so intricate.

I've never learnt to quilt. I'm more of a cross stitcher. I find it helps calm me. lol

Well, the quilts were a huge hit, everyone was floored and loved them.

I also made a cloak for Ma'am for her birthday. It's high quality velvet on one side in a deep deep burgundy, and jaquered satin on the inside (black).

Needed help from Mom sewing this though, was a bit outside my skill what with the types of fabric, but it turned out gorgeous.

serijules,
I don't know how how I missed this thread. I am so impressed with what you've accomplished in just a year of quilting! I have been a quilter for almost 20 years, now mostly contemporary art quilting but I still love traditional designs. Your precision is remarkable and your eye for color and pattern is amazing.

Your gift recipients are very lucky people to now own this wonderful piece of you. I believe very strongly that quilts (as well as other art works) are wonderful legacies of our existence since they last for so long. And, even better than other other art forms (many of which I work with), you get to touch quilts....so you can always stay tactically connected to the maker. The reason, I guess, that I own 4 sewing machines but only one easel.... ;)

Oooooh.....and I am coveting my 5th machine......
