Before I go tonight.....I want to say this....

I believe that people who visit here should post whatever they want and whenever they want. Afterall, this is a FREE ADULT SITE

I have now been away from my sisters on Sensual Venus for 8 weeks. Another 4 months to go before I can return.

My exile is not a punishment, but a kind of educational mission. And it is here on LIT I am to study improvements in the "quality" of both running a site and writing.

I have now set myself a task which failed on SV...to try to create a group for collaboration stories. So far, this challenge is working with only two other participants (both male) and I am surprised to discover why other women are not as interested as I thought they would be.

Looking back on the history of modern literature and collaboration stories, it was afterall a woman who actually pioneered the idea. And my thoughts led me to believe that there would be more enthusiasm from women writers. Unfortunately this is not the case.

As much fun as I have on the SRP boards, I've found collaborative writing extremely hard myself. there are the practical aspects, of course, but like most people, I find writing to be a very personal exprience. On the one hand, I want total control (and I don't mean BDSM,lol) and on the other, my insecurities always nag at me. I can't help comparing myself to the other writer and the weaknesses in my writing become glaring to me.

If that's my cat, sienna, just squirt the little demon with the hose and send her home.

Subo, you made a few good points there in your comment. That is why I have incorporated that one of the participants should act as an "editor", a trusted member of the group that understands others and their insecurities, styles and faults.

This is essential to create good writing contributions from all parties concerned. However, it may seem that the editor is taking on a controlling and dominant role here over others. But a set of guidelines and...I hate this word...rules, may help to eliminate control by the editor.

This idea of mine is kind of experimental at the moment. And people have asked..."why persue this kind of thing?"

My answer is simple. It is not new, but now a method adopted by on-going television series writers. It keeps the plot "alive" and injects more life into the story as it progresses. In essence it is the writers ideas that are important and the way they interact with others.

It is a team effort. And if you can't work in a team, then maybe it isn't a good idea. But I'm sure that some writers can thrive within such a team and enjoy being part of it.
