Falk Firebeard sat on his throne deep in Stormcloak territory. This war this battle against the Imperials was soon to be over. After killing the king of Skyrim he thought he would of shown everyone his true power however he didn't expect the queen to be so strong. However even as she took the king's place as Jarl Elisif of Solitude he knew she would soon no longer be a threat.
As he knew in less than an hour his plan would be set into motion.
Over near Markarth in the mountain passage through the chillwind depths the group of falmer waited. They rarely ever left the safety of their near by cave. This however was different is was an ambush outside of their safety their darkness. Hidden in the mountain side as night had fallen they heard the stomp of soliders many soliders. Also the the sound of horses and one carriage.
One falmer lifted his head slighty high up listening. From each footstep he counted 25 soliders. Each huff hitting the path told him there was 10 horses. the four noisey wheels meant one carriage. These sounds he had heard before many times on his quests out into the world. Following listening and tracking people and animals he had learned many things. New sounds new smells but most importantly he had learned some words.
As the 10 falmer lay in wait their grey skin blending them into the mountain side. He knew all the falmer would be listening as sound was their best advantage as they were all blind from so much time in the caves.
Hearing the convoy move closer his bow ready, he could pick out the breathing of each solider some heavy others relaxed as the rest of the falmer did the same he knew the time to strike was now.
