So, now that Romney has begged off from a '16 presidential run....

Yes, those of us who've been around a few years realize the climate changes, as it has all through history; for instance the "lungs of the Earth" that Sting likes to call the Amazon, didn't exist 17,000 years ago, and the Sahara was lush with foliage. It wasn't man who precipitated the change, as man hasn't precipitated the changes we see today. So tell this shit to little children, but give those of us with an education a break.

Of course the climate is always changing, but man has precipitated the changes we see today.

I repeat:

The scientific opinion on climate change is that the Earth's climate system is unequivocally warming, and it is extremely likely (at least 95% probability) that humans are causing most of it through activities that increase concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels. In addition, it is likely that some potential further greenhouse gas warming has been offset by increased aerosols.[1][2][3][4] This scientific consensus is expressed in synthesis reports, by scientific bodies of national or international standing, and by surveys of opinion among climate scientists. Individual scientists, universities, and laboratories contribute to the overall scientific opinion via their peer-reviewed publications, and the areas of collective agreement and relative certainty are summarised in these high level reports and surveys.

(I suppose now you're gonna tell me Wikipedia, founded by the Objectivist Jimmy Wales, has a liberal bias.)

And:

Scientific consensus

A scientific consensus is reached when the vast majority of the scientists involved in a discipline broadly agree on the interpretation of the evidence pertaining to a specific scientific question. When this occurs the case can be considered to have been demonstrated and the burden of proof then falls on those who would dispute the consensus. The following national and international organizations are part of the consensus that global warming is a real phenomenon for which humans are responsible:
National Academy of Sciences (NAS)
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS)
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The Royal Society of the UK (RS)
Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS)
UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
And many more.

Though some have taken non-committal stances, the vast majority of scientific bodies are convinced by the evidence.[14] In addition, those pinko tree-huggers at the Pentagon now rank global warming as a "destabilizing force" (damn enviro-weenies).[15][16]

So you expect the Sahara to spontaneously bloom with vegetation to make up for the deforestation that's being done in the Amazon by us Humans?

I see that congressional GOP is also attempting to stifle NASA, the DoD, and the CIA on the subject of Climate Change.

Nothing says that you're correct more than a bunch of Republicans trying to shut you up.

I don't blame him. I no longer support them financially either. I will support a real conservative however regardless of party, of course there are none in the Democrat Party.

You will never support a real conservative. You will only support RW reactionaries. Different thing. No conservative would shout "End the Fed!" or "Molon Labe!" or "Drown it in a bathtub!"

Just like the President influences the FCC, the EPA, and the IRS, he replaces real generals and civilian leaders in the Pentagon with political officers who will carry his water or be fired as well.
Energy companies are spending millions of dollars in pursuit of climate change denial. That is a hard, cold fact.

Why is that? Are they hoping to educate people about scientific realities, out of the goodness of their hearts and a desire for truth? Do you honestly believe that?

Those energy companies are dead certain about climate change. They'll never announce that, but they are.
