So, Tuesday I'm having brain surgery...

Now for something a completely different...

I just got back from a trip home. (That being Wyoming.)

This is where I lived.

Between my house and my family's farm is 90 miles. I believe that one time I counted and there are 12 of these between his farm and my hometown. (He is a dryland wheat farmer, by the way.)

Needless to say, I grew up never feeling really safe.

This is a small part of a BP windfarm, south of his farm. It's a massive project.

ANTELOPE!!!! in his neighbor's wheat field.

I guess I should point out to those who may not know, that first picture is an underground nuclear missle silo. And you can't get really close to them.

Those silos were targeted by the Soviets and I'm sure still are by the Russians. They'd want to take them out if there was ever a nuclear war and having them in our yards, sorta speak, was always scary to know. They were deliberately placed in a state like Wyoming where the population is like 45 and lots of wide open spaces. (Okay, there's actually about 500,000 people there. But I'll tell ya, Wyoming gives new meaning to the six degrees of seperation theory. There, it's about 3 degrees. And Kevin Bacon doesn't live there.)

Growing up, seeing those missle sites day in and day out, it was a constant reminder of all kinds of bad things that could happen.

No worries, darlin'.

This is Putin's new game, to scare the West with nukes.

It's absurd.

The United States can pulverize Russia in any scenario they select, and they know it.

That's why they're so scared of the nine NATO ships in the Black Sea so far.

Should be eighteen.

The Russians undertand force.

They don't know fuck from shit about words.

You can talk all day, and at the end of it they'll put a knife in your back.

LOL But you know that invading Georgia was our fault now. Somehow, we made the Russians do it.
I so love how you put things, doll!

And I really love that you keep track of me once in a while, too. You're such a great friend! ;-D

I'm not worried anymore but being a 15 year old girl on a school bus, driving by those silos and knowing what they were... it was worrisome then. ;-)

No, or more accuratly, Putin.

You're so awesome... I've always crushed on you and you know it! But then so does most of the ladies on the GB. And competition really intimidates me.

Whyyyyyyy oh why, do you have to live so far away????? ;-D

I prefer wise over old.

But God, don't I know it (the old thing, I mean.)

Hmmm wise, are you wise?

I need to think on this awhile....

I miss you too :(

A metre long!!

My God!

That chocolate is designed for masochists, who else would try to put triangles in their mouths??

Now if you are really wise, tell me, what are you going to do with the box?

It would be a shame to waste it lol

Okay it wasn't a meter. It was about a foot long or so. LOL It was sure good. And I'm ashamed to say the box is long gone...

We have a silo or two in Missouri, too. I know of one near Whiteman AFB, near Nobnoster, MO. Yes...Nobnoster. I didn't name the damn town.

I'm guessing we have them here, because of the Airforce base. I remember driving by them, on the way to and from college, at Warrensburg, back in the 70s. Yes, I'm old, too.

Whiteman, by the way, is home of the B2 Bomber. If you like patriotic photos and of great quality...check out the photo section of this site. http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/990406-F-4406B-502.jpg. Wow!

That is an awesome picture, DVS. Boy, if I ever rode in one of those, I'd puke all over the windshield, I bet.
