When I read these numbers I hope the foundations for our Ideals are strong enough to weather the coming storm. Our daedalus is being shaken.
The problem with polls isn't how they're being conducted, it's where.
Major metro areas aren't cross-sections of America. The views held there aren't universal. Yet, in order to get sufficient responses, polling outfits have to go to major metro areas and ask their questions there.
The responses are predictably skewed toward the metro area idealisms instead of America as a whole. Even in flyover country, the major cities follow this trend, albeit not as strongly.
Getting a true picture requires a lot more work over a longer time span than most polling outfits are willing to do, because they don't get paid any more for it than going the quick and easy route.
