I love almost all the ideas on this forum...I just returnd to lit, and ill be around for awhile (at least until my schedule changes) If you need a quick NPC or char give me a tag... In fact I think I'll submit a couple ideas of my own

If you are familiar with Dark Isle...

I have an idea, but I have to claim rights to this one...
If you know the thread "Dark Isle" which I started a while ago and gets decent play, then you'll know where I'm coming from. If not, check it out and tell me what you think of this.
I'm thinking about starting another one, maybe not right now, but this one would be present day (Dark Isle is in the future--about two-hundred years actually, I think would be best...as one of my characters is 212 years old and would be in both). In this one, the supernatural beasts that have so much influence in Dark Isle aren't major powers yet, but are still growing factions. No kingdoms, just small groups...
Anyone like this idea?

QC I like the idea, but I think you should wait until Dark Isle is over first. Is their anyone in direct control over the groups, I was thinking it be nice to have something like the Roman Empire of Dark Isle where everyone is indirectly controlled by an emperor.

I dunno, but I don't think that the Roman Empire things is gonna work. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the entire theme of royalty and leadership, one person telling others what to do. It seems like every other thread has chains of command and whatnot. FOr the old Dark Isle, I'd actually like to break up the kingdoms, get away from the full-on Medieval theme and head in a new, more chaotic direction, where no one knows who's in control of who or why. Less controlled, less predictable. That one's out of my hands now. We'll have to wait and see what happens, eventhough it has slowed lately...
In the (possible) new one, I'd like to do something entirely new altogether...I was actually thinking about a similar theme in the sense of the werewolves and vampires existing equally, but not being in control of the humans or one another, existing as equal factions with no overbearing authority. This would make it so each character could make decisions without violating a plot line...for instance, if someone wanted to add a vampire character to Dark Isle, technically, they would HAVE to follow the Prince's orders, otherwise, that would weaken the Prince's character, which violates proper gaming...
I noticed too, while I'm on a roll, that in Dark Isle, the creatures are having many power struggles outside of themselves when we're gaming. In order for one character to be well-represented, he must "best" another, who then appears weak. That's a labor to the story, and it also causes a disruption in the storyline as we each try to keep our characters from becoming weaker, but in certain instances, like the Isle, almost impossible to get over.
Oh, and by the way, I intended the (possible) new Dark Isle thread to use some of the same characters, in terms of them as younger vampires, werewolves, etc, but not to be the same storyline at all. Something more modern, like clans of each species, living "underground" outside the public eye and struggling to just survive, now and again having struggles among the other clans. That type thing. More action and less characterization...in short, the opposite of both Dark Isle, and what we did with the X-Men...No one character or gamer calling all the shots (and if I'm the one being overbearing to the storyline, let me know...I know I DO tend to get carried away sometimes--all the time perhaps), but the gamers are still moving forward, not just sitting around the Mansion and reading poetry.
