Someone To Watch Over Me

He was the safest place I’d ever known.
He kept me close, became my home.
He gently pushed and guided and over time
I confided all my fears and faults and dreams.
All he did was love me more and I surrendered my heart…
for the last time.

Yes he did

I hope I get the chance to surrender my heart again for he taught me well and wanted me to be happy

sitting with you on the beach... watching the tide change
and roasting marshmallows.
these simple pleasures warm my soul long after
the chairs are loaded back in the truck and the beach is in our rearview.
First, I love the photo and the words. Sadly we no longer live near a beach, where we spent hour after hour walking, talking, visiting, and loving.
The truck is gone, the chairs rusted and fell apart. Yet we can see the fire and remember friends who may be gone.

I came here this time to just say after knowing my husband over 61 years, being married over 59, he still is by my side to watch over me.
He brought me back to Lit to fill the void after we cut back on wild sex with way too many other men. Here I can live our past, our fantasies, and our great memories of many years together.

To some here we are two old coots writing stories filled with lies. To those in the stories, and special friends, we are known as a crazy couple turning dreams into reality. At this time of our lives, we really don't care what others think.

The tide comes and goes, wiping love letters from the sand. More than ever we need each other, as the days swiftly pass. More than ever I need someone to watch over me.

Dollie~ thanks for sharing. Your love and your life together is a testament to how you have each watched over the other. Memories are a precious thing, and I am glad my post reminded you of some of your precious time together. I particularly love your final words...

The tide comes and goes, wiping love letters from the sand.
More than ever we need each other, as the days swiftly pass.

...indeed the days do pass so swiftly, and we all need someone to watch over us. :rose:
