To me it depends where its posted. Novels and novellas and Non erotic are categories where anything goes in the sense it doesn't have to be the erotica the site is known for...as someone said the Lit in the title is normally found there.

This was in loving wives a category associated with sex and erotica. There's no link so we can't look at the story, but I'll say that if anywhere in that story there is erotic content then why is there a murder in there because even as separate events they're within the same title...posted as erotica

Remember, erotica is not judged like mainstream fiction. In the mainstream anything that happens, sex, murder, abuse, drugs etc...are all part of a larger picture, they're devices. That's why no one cares about incest in a VC Andrews book, its meant to not be sexy, but also explains the characters situation.

In erotica, whatever the stories main focus is is sexualized and fetishized which is why rape and incest and underaged sex aren't allowed in the selling market and allegedly here.

IMO if you want to write that, write as thou wilt, but there's better platforms for it, or if you want it here, go to the anything goers more 'mainstream like" categories.

Let me ask you this as a serious question. Everything here is a kink, correct? LW is about hotwives, cucks, etc...other category titles are self explanatory, group IR Taboo...

So when did hatred become a kink? There is nothing erotic about BTB stories. They're full of rape, abuse, hatred and anger and the comments are worse. I resent the whole idea that erotica is a lesser genre, and only ever about "getting off". Or the idea that people don't "get off" on mainstream fiction. It's not high art, but there is definitely room for allegory and meaning, and every colour of human experience.

I remember laughing at dead baby jokes when I was a teenager, but now they make me throw up a little in my mouth. I won't rant at people who tell them, or accuse them of harming anyone. Long story short, it's fiction folks. Don't take it too seriously, no kids were harmed writing the story. Don't dismiss it as nothing either, it is what it is.

I just consider it an enabling extension of what I write in the mainstream--just going behind doors for the intimate details rather than stopping at the door and becoming hazy about what is going on in there as I would in mainstream writing). Spinning it all out in the erotica version. I always shake my head at the occasional references on the board to erotica needing to be something that builds up to a sex act finish. I put my sex acts wherever they fit in the story. And often my ending is a resolution of the plot problem, not a culminating sex act. The story is usually more than the sex act (although sometimes my story are just that--a hot and heavy sex act--and no more. I try to write variety.)

In fact, i have been told by friends who have rl published works that mainstream publishers will not consider a book written for “grown ups” (as separate from “adults”) that does not have sex in it.
