Nikki was getting more confused then she saw the file. "Yeah we were together for eight years and during that time I put myself through college and dealt with taking care of my family. My brother's kid was having heart surgery...so I didn't question anything because I was dealing with a lot! Emma understood that and supported me."she said. She was starting to get pissed as jack just wouldn't come out and say it.

Jack let out a deep breath knowing she would have cracked by now if she was lying.
His expression softened and he took her hands in his. You never knew you were supposed to be one of those girls until she fell in love with you. He continued to hold her hands letting that sink in. He hated knowing what this would do . All he could do was wait for the tears and be there for her.

Nikki felt her stomach drop as she saw the open file. In pure shock as she saw Emma's true colors. Her hands fell from Jack's as she touched the photos. Tears began to roll down her face as it was hitting her like a wall. " Emma was possessive....she never would like me be alone with anyone...mostly her friends."she said. Nikki wiped a few tears, "She said the rent for the building was getting to expensive and she was losing customers."

As the tears began to flow jack stood and walked around behind her chair 'wrapping his harms around her as she began to sob. He knew it would be a long night with many more tears. The worst of it was now they had to do something about Emma. He could easily ruin her , but deep down he knew she still had a place in Nikki's heart. ruining Emma would only hurt Nikki and not make him feel any better. Nikki had always refused to talk about it saying she would take care of Emma.But now when he showed her how far Emma had taken this ,they would need to come up with a compromise . He wasn't looking forward to the discussion.

Nikki soon turned into his arms as she sobbed. She had trusted Emma only to find out what kind of monster she was. Nikki was now terrified that she was coming for her. Looking up at Jack, "What do we do? I'm scared." Honestly yes Emma would have a place in her heart but she needed to be stopped.

Jack took Nikki home thinking things through for hours. Nikki curled into him under the quilt on the bed. Finally he let out a deep breath. He said honey i may have a solution hear me out. First it's clear that Emma is narcissistic selfish bitch. And if you were to tell me the truth she abused you quite a bit. Jack paused for Nikki to answer. Let's face she had a crappy upbringing fell in with wrong crowd at times. And i firmly believe she like many bullies is abusive in order to hide her own fears. If i go the legal route and expose her she will likely do time lose everything and fall prey to same elements that got in trouble in the first place. He touched Nikki's nose with his finger, and you would hate me for it. Or... we can turn the tables on her and give her a serious dose of her own medicine to show her we business and reach a truce she will abide buy. The question is ... can you be her bully or at least read her the riot act while I am?

Nikki just needed a moment as she as was now seeing all those red flags she ignored. Once home she curled into Jack and soon heard him out. "Hun...she wasn't like that to me. The most was she had to know where I was and who I was with. She kept her stuff private from me. I knew she had a business but that was it."she said. Nikki was scared that Emma would come for her. "What do we do....she already is breaking into the bar."she said.

oh god Nikki don,t try to bullshit me, I love you down to the soles of my feet but i need you to be honest before I can help you! ...It was more than needing to know were you were. ... I saw the marks she left. I need you to turn the tables on her . She is a bully because she does not understand her own fears. Tie her up and slap her ass purple like she did to those girls ... get in her face and tell her we know and understand. Maybe just maybe .. she will give you.. no us .. the love and respect she always meant to in the first place.

Nikki pulled away and got out of the bed. "She was kinky when we had sex....that's where the marks came from. Yes she could be a much but she never crossed a line. She would treat any make she left on my body. Keeping safe when we first met because my ex before her was abusive."she screamed. She was trembling as she just didn't know what to think. Siting on the edge with her back to Jack.

OK babe I'm stumped. let's not rush to a decision essentially she has been rendered harmless for the time being. Jack pulled her back into his warm embrace. I can't stand to see you like this baby. we will think of something i promise.

Nikki soon curled back into Jack as she sobbed. She just didn't understand why Emma was being like this. Eventually they made it back under the covers and Nikki used Jack as a pillow. Nikki soon fell asleep though emotionally today took a toll on her.

The next morning was somber and jack noticed she didn't eat. He poured them coffee and curled up with her on the sofa. Trying to lighten the mood somehow jack looked at her straight faced and asked ' Tell me the truth babe, What do you Think Emma threw across the room first when she listened to us making love?"

Nikki just wasn't hungry for breakfast and sat on the couch. Jack was trying to cheer her up but nothing. "Why does it matter....she cheated first....and is a monster."she said. Curling into him as she didn't want to go to the bar today but she knew she had too.

Jack Held Nikki tight running a hand through her hair and rocking her in his arms. He had no idea what to tell her anymore and so just shut up. He would just have to wait and see what came at him next. Jack knew it would not be long before Emma realized her listening devices no longer worked .Even Nikki didn't know his crew had changed the locks and codes on the bar overnight. The new ones had been placed in the locked trunk of his car waiting for him. He made a mental note to update Steven. He would ask Him to identify Emma's accomplice even though he knew it was already in the works. he kissed Nikki and continued rocking her until she was ready.

Shifting so she curled into him more, eventually she did get up and head to dress for the day. Knowing Jack wouldn't leave her side gave her some comfort. She really had no idea just how bad Emma could be. Yet she could strike at any moment and they have yet to figure everything out. "Hun will you make sure Stephen is around too."she asked.

Oh yes babe , He will be working closely with me on this one. Though I hope he will not have to act in an official capacity. he watched her with a worried heart as he waited keys in hand.

Nikki grabbed her purse before she headed out with Jack. She was quiet the whole way to the bar. Not even knowing at all locks and pass codes were changed. Yet thankful he was going to have Stephen come around.

jack parked in the alley today watched Nikki try to unlock the door even after he told her he had new keys made.he hugged her as tight as he could.' Baby you have me worried,
you know you didn't touch breakfast again. Jack unlocked the door for her .He went about the business of testing all the new security systems. When he was done he sat and watched Nikki buzz around the bar . He realized then he could fix most anything in world except the whole in Nikki's heart. He would simply have to patient and pray it would heal on it's own.

Nikki smiled at his concerned but headed inside. Wanting to distract herself with work, putting her purse in her office. Soon came out and began to get the bar ready to open. It was going to take some time but Jack just had to be patient with her.

Jack kept an eye on Nikki throughout The day. There wasn't that much for him to do during the day. He used the time to review Emma's files and the security reports from his techs.Thankfully he could justify there expense as a precaution in the court case. Steven called about the guy the saw in the tapes . They were able to id him from a set of prints he left on one the cameras. Turns out he was a computer geek working for some of the big chain stores repairing and installing home security systems. He had gotten himself into minor trouble doing side-work for some gang banger and got swept up in a raid. How and were Emma found him was still unclear. He and Steven were of the same mind set as they both agreed sometimes the defense is a good offense. They agreed jack should shake down the clown and visit Emma in her boutique to put the fear of god in them. Still he told Steve he needed to Give Nikki some more time before he went ahead with that plan. If he should tell her what he was doing remained to be seen.

Nikki kept busy throughout the day and eventually sat down to eat something. Sitting in the back of the bar as she quietly ate. Thinking about everything but just didn't know what to do. She wanted answers from Emma but knew Jack wouldn't let her go near Emma. Sighing as she just wanted to disappear for bit. Wanting to go back to the beach by the house.

When the day was over jack still fretted over Nikki's mood. When he drove home he didn't go up the hill but instead parked at the beach . He took her hand " come on Hun let's go for a walk. It was a bit more windy and cool than the last time and there was nobody else around but them. At the waters edge jack held her hand as the wind blew her hair wildly. he stood back for a second looking at her holding her shoes in one hand an pushing her hair back from her face with the other. He wondered if there was anything this woman could that didn't look sexy.Sadly he thought to himself if Emma wasn't so screwed up he would encourage her to dump the bar and partner in the boutique . He envisioned guys like himself willing to hand over fistfuls of money in order to see their own girl in those same outfits they could design and model in the store . Jacked hugged her close and kissed Her.

Nikki was quiet though happy that they ended up at the beach. Pushing her hair from her face as she held her shoes. Leaning back into his arms before wrapping hers around his waist. "Exhausted....both mentally and physically. I just....."she stopped. Burying her face into his chest before she began to sob. Nikki had trusted Emma as she was so native back then. "I trusted her.. and now look."she said crying.

Jack held her tight as the tears soaked through his shirt. He hated seeing her sad like this but he was helpless to do anything unless she asked him to .
Jack lifted her chin with his finger. Wiping her tears away he kissed her. Come on let's go home, last one in the bubble bath is a rotten egg.

Nikki knew he was doing his best to cheer her up. Noddi f her head as they headed for the house. Once inside she headed straight for their room. Moving slowly as she heard the bath running as she stripped down. Walking into find Jack waiting her and she carefully hopped in by him. Nikki immediately curled into him.
