The afternoon sun was warm and there was a nice breeze blowing as they strolled down the beach holding hands. They passed a bunch of teenagers tossing a football and trying to hard not be obvious as they watched Nikki g.j o by. The sand was cool down by the water and they stopped to watch some children digging holes while there mother read a book in her beach chair. As they got near the end two women passed them walking small dogs. Jack noticed they were holding hands too, but didn't mention it. He just pulled Nikki tight to him for a kiss." What a peaceful place it is today "

Nikki enjoyed the walk on the beach before he pulled her into a kiss. "Thank you for everything....I would've never found happiness."she said. Keeping Jack close as they had a moment. After a bit they headed back to the house and Nikki made some lunch. "So.....was everything handled in court? No more leaving?"she asked.

Jack smiled wondering what brought that to her mind. " unfortunately no. there were many people arrested and charged in this. Because of the old laws on the books if one of them decides to plea bargain for a lesser sentence he may be tried separately. They may bring me in to regurgitate my testimony so they can't claim a mistrial because I wasn't there. The law says they have the right to face there accuser and recorded testimony may not be accepted. It could go on for two years or more. But the good news is it's just a couple of hours in town . I wont have to go anywhere." They had run out of beach and turned back. Jack laughed and pointed , the two small dogs were helping the kids dig holes in the sand.

Nikki smiled at Jack, "I asked because I want you to be co owner of the bar." Pulling Jack into a soft kiss as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "You have helped me so much it only feels right. Plus I don't ever plan on letting you go."she said.

Jack was stunned. He didn't know what had been on her mind all day, but he never expected that. ' I don't no what to say... except yes of course . We should consult a lawyer thought , a partnership may not be the best thing for you. And as long I have you i only want whats in your best interest. " He picked her up in arms ," but i love that you think that much of me baby. It's a very good feeling. Jack kissed with intense passion while the ladies on the beach tried to keep the kids interested in the dogs. When he finally put her down they all gave them a little clap.

Nikki was blushing as he set her down. "I mean it hun.....I don't want to live without you. I was scared when you where gone for those two weeks that I would never see you again."she said. Keeping Jack close as they hugged. "You have shown be what real love is."she said.

" I know you do baby" He took her hand ,"lets head over to a nice little place I know in revere. We can talk some more and you won't have to cook. Then I'll bring you home and chase you around the house naked and celebrate".

Nikki chuckled before she playfully swatted his chest. "Sounds like a deal hun."she said. Giving him another kiss before they headed back to the house. "Just think of it as another workout."she teased.

The restaurant was a small place that specialized in Italian seafood . Jack couldn't take his eyes of of Nikki as the candlelight shined in her hair. He swirled the wine around in his glass as he asked questions about the business. I am very happy about everything Nikki, but I want you to consider a couple of things. I know your very good with numbers. I own the house outright . We still have a mortgage on the bar. Before I met you actually i had a standing offer to join a private investigators office as a partner. just doing the rough math ,if i were to take that and still help you with bar . I could cut the amount of time for us to retire comfortably in half. In approximately ten years we would on the bar outright . We could sell of everything and move to the islands . No more on your feet 12 hours a day.

Nikki listened as she sipped her wine, Jack has some points. "I would love that as long as this job doesn't keep you too fa from me. With the recent break ins at the bar...I know Stephen will help out but I want you close by. Just until we know for sure things are okay."she said. She leaned across and kissed Jack. "Otherwise I see no issue with you working that job."she said.

Jack clinked there glasses in a toast. Great then the break ins will be my second case ,and I sure it will be solved quickly. He leaned over the table to whisper in her ear , the first case will be to find out what happened to your clothes once You got home.

Nikki blushed before sipping her wine. "Behave mister."she said. They enjoyed their meal before heading home. Smiling as he helped her out of the car though it disappeared as she saw flowers on the front step. Clinging to Jack as they were the ones Emma would always get her. "Hun..."she said.

Jack saw the flowers as Nikki clung to him. He said it's just flowers honey. Read the card when we get in . we can talk about it then. There was something deeply disturbing about them ,and not because he was sure they were from Emma. But he kept that thought to himself and carried them in for Nikki. He placed them on the table and waited for her to read the card to him.

Nikki was scared as how did Emma find this place. She walked over and picked up the card. "My dearest Nikki I will be coming for you. Tell Jack he doesn't stand a chance. Love Emma."she read. The card dropped from her hands and landed on the table as she began to tremble. Emma was coming for her and they needed to prepare.

" relax Nikki. She has no idea what she is dealing with. I am curious about her obtaining this address. For obvious reasons besides Emma it's not easy to get. Do you recall mentioning it to anyone or having it written down anywhere. Maybe you changed the address on something you would have mailed to you?. In any case I'm going to shake down her accomplice and make him sing, then I'm going to pay Emma a visit she will never forget. This will all be done soon. Jack poured himself a tall Irish whiskey and went out to the sofa with his thoughts.

Relax? She was scared as she told no one of this address. Nikki soon followed Jack over to the couch. "No one knows of this place...only your apartment. I haven't changed my mailing address to here yet. I was in the works but I noticed the break ins."she said. Taking a seat next to Jack before resting against him.

I was extremely careful . If foreign national spies couldn't find this place than frigging Emma wouldn't either. She is no were near that good and neither is her accomplice.
Our phones , The business , the car . Have all been swept by the best tech's in the world.
We overlooked something , something simple. Is Emma's name on your phone account by any chance? Do you know if she maybe has a close contact in the phone company.

Nikki took his hand before she curled into him. "No she wasn't she refused to be."she said. She soon crawled onto his lap and curled back into him. Nuzzling his neck as she got comfortable. "Can you friend check my phone to see if maybe she bugged it? Like a tracker?"she said.

We checked it that night at the bar. When would she have had a chance to get near it between then and now? I will take it in and have it checked again. Once I pay her a visit we will know a lot more. Maybe she is connected to one of your people at the bar? Still your phone would have to have gone missing for awhile ,and never seems to be far away from you.

Nikki was shocked as he never told her that they already checked her phone. "I left it in the office when we got slammed one night. They needed my help with bar tending...it could be possible she has someone on the inside helping her."she said. Nuzzling his neck as she got comfortable with him.

The next morning jack dropped Nikki of early before dropping her phone of to be checked. He was back in his element now wearing his leather coat to conceal the sidearm and sunglasses . He headed for the home of one William Santos , Emma's break in guy. As he left his apartment jack stepped in front of him on the sidewalk and flashing the badge quickly before putting it away. Hello William ,why don't you come with me ,we need to have a little chat.
Jack leaned against the building ,let's start with a lady named Emma. How did you meet her and end breaking into the Southside. And don't bullshit me son I already have you on tape as well as your prints. Take your time I'm a good listener. When he was done with William he drove back and picked up Nikkis phone then drove to Emma's shop. It was quite inside, just one customer looking through the racks and one sales girl behind the counter playing on her phone. At least she wasn't chewing gum. Jack actually had to tap on the counter to get her attention. "I'm here to see Emma". The girl hesitated as she looked into his sunglasses. Is she expecting you , she is busy with a client at the moment. Jack smiled and flashed the badge once again. I think she will want to see me . I'll just follow you. The girls eyes went wide and she swallowed hard getting of her chair and leading the way to Emma's office.

Nikki got to work and asked if Stephen would be present just in case. Right now she wanted at least one of them present. Whereas Emma was finished up with a client and froze when she saw Jack. Having the girl show her client out before she lead Jack to her office.

"I figured you would come see me. How's my girlfriend doing?"she asked. In her mind Nikki was still hers even though Nikki was fully done with her. "You know she will come back to me. "She said.

Jack sat himself down and removed his sunglasses as Emma spoke. Thinking to himself it's a shame such a hottie had to be a complete psychopath. Well that's nice you figured that out all on your own. But your wrong , Nikki is never coming back to you. Even if I left today that wouldn't happen. Jack had the file and some new information he learned this morning , but he didn't want to go there just yet. So enlighten me Emma , What do you really Know about me ?

Emma sat back in her chair as she watched him. "You stole my girlfriend from me. We were happy and you just came in and she cheated. I could forgive eventually as I love her but you have to be gone. You destroyed a happy relationship."she said. She slammed photos down on the desk of her and Nikki. "She was my everything and you took it all away. Seducing her to cheat on me."she said.

Jack wasn't about to let her go of on some nonsense rant. He just smiled and calmly said "Emma dearest , I did not ask you why you hate me. I asked you what you really know about me. What made you think any of your crap would scare me in the least.? You need to focus honey. You not getting the big picture.
