Nikki soon clung to Jack as he held her. Curling up in their bed as she calmed down. Once calm, Nikki walked downstairs only to hear Jack on the phone. Walking into his office before she placed a hand on his shoulder. Slipping onto his lap as she curled into his chest. Feeling his free arm wrap around her as she buried her face in his neck.

Jack hung up the phone and squeezes Nikki tight. We will be fine honey .
The video caught the plate of the car and the faces of the people who had thrown the brick. It wouldn't take long to track them down and confirm his suspicions. Later that day the car was traced to one of the girls that worked for Emma. The guy that threw the brick was still an unknown. It didn't matter ,The next afternoon when jack strolled into the boutique ,the girls behind the counter stood frozen in fear. He let them sweat a little as he picked out a couple of things for Nikki and paid for them. He calmly told them he needed to speak with them in private outside, right now !. They waited for him to speak as he leaned against his car . The channel 7 news vehicles rolled up out front . a Minute later Jasmine Parker the investigative reporter rushed in followed by two cameramen. Both girls jaws dropped as jack said. " I didn't want to involve you in Emma's Demise. The police will be along shortly as well. Jack opened the car door for them , I'm bringing you home, But we have a lot to talk about.
That night He watched Emma have a melt down as she was handcuffed on the eleven o'clock news. He just held Nikki tight not knowing what to expect.

Nikki soon crumbled and broke down crying. Curling into Jack, she trusted Emma and now she saw the monster that she really was. Feeling Jack hold her tight as he comforted her. Hopefully this meant that Emma would leave them alone. After some time, Nikki headed upstairs to bed.

early the next morning jack slipped out for his morning run. He really needed to get back into his exercise routines. When he returned Nikki was still in bed ,but she watched out of one eye as he got out of sweaty clothes . He invited her into the shower and asked if she would like coffee and a stroll on the beach afterwords. In the shower cuddling turned to kissing and he was inclined to take her back to bed and make love.

Nikki woke up the next morning to an empty bed. She laid there and ended up falling back asleep. Walkng once Jack came into the room. Of course she eyed her man before joining him in the shower. Jack absentmindedly toyed with Nikki's hair while they sat on the sophaand looked out at the harbor. " The parents of one of the girls that was working for Emma are looking for her. The boston police had found her at one time, but she did not want to be contacted. I may need to enlist your help and advice dealing with both girls. Maybe we can keep them both out of trouble.

Nikki curled into Jack as this had this moment. "I understand...but hun I am still scared. Emma is crazy and I don't doubt that she has help." she said. After all it seems Emma found this place and Nikki didn't want to be alone anymore.

Jack laid his head on hers and rubbed her back. I will never leave you alone.
Emma will be to busy trying to stay out of jail. the owners of the building will no doubt cancel her lease when they see the news. I think between the bar and my new contracts we can keep the girls employed and out of harms way. I can only imagine what would cause her to run from home and refuse to speak with her parents for five years. She may tell us ,she may not. But it would make if I knew that before i turned in a report. She should also be aware they may have hired other people to find her as well.What are your thoughts on this?.

Nikki listened once more as she curled into Jack. "Hun...I just want us to be safe." she said. Giving him a kiss before she crawled off his lap. Heading to the kitchen to make some breakfast for them. "Sorry...after the whole brick thing....I'm just shook up." she said.

Jack watched her walk away to make breakfast. He wasn't sure if he should be disappointed or confused when she showed zero interest in helping the girls.
He decided she must have her reasons and he would have to deal with it himself. Today he would begin contacting prospective clients and making appointments. After a couple of hours on the laptop and his phone it dawned on him she never called him to breakfast ,and wondered what was going on .
This was so unusual for her.

Nikki was just so unsure about everything...she stopped making breakfast. Taking a seat at the tale as she was deep in thought. He was so sure that Emma couldn't get to her. It scared her as someone knew of this house and she was starting to feel more scared. She didn't want any harm to come to Jack.

Jack looked at her sitting in the Kitchen ,Stress and fear written all over her face. He lifted her out of the chair and hugged her tight. It killed him to see her this way. "Honey listen to me , Emma is cooling her heels in jail. Her so called friends have scattered like rats when the lights come on. Steven is going to put the fear of god into her when he visits her , the police have already identified the driver of the car and the brick thrower will be next. i think you need a little vacation. What do you think about a week in the white mountains, a little cabin on a lake just for us?

Nikki soon clung to Jack as he spoke. A vacation is what they both needed. "Will Steven watch the bar for us? I would like to get away for awhile.....sorry hun it's just I know Emma won't give up. She will do whatever she can to ruin us." she said. Beginning to slowly relax in his arms as he rubbed her back.

Yes the bar will be covered ,and so will the house. I know you don't them but we have very good neighbors. One of them had called the police on the brick throwers. If she had not misidentified the car they would have been caught. This town is a peninsula, there is only one road and one bridge to get out. Some of the guys at the agency Own summer places up north ,I should be able to book one easily enough . By the way our good neighbor also told with a wink mind you,we should remember to close some windows when were in the mood.

Nikki soon became embarrassed as the neighbor has seen them naked. Yet relieved both places would be safe while they are gone. "When do we leave?"she asked. Looking up at Jack with a slight smile on her face. This would be perfect for them to bond more and Nikki could relax a little.

Two weeks later they were on the way . His friend had told him it was a cottage . But when they want down the private road to the lakes edge they found a beautiful home. It had a large fire place and sliding glass doors that opened out to a private beach on the lake. You could see it was a family place
With several bedrooms for the kids as well as a small ski boat and canoes out back. After they unpacked Jack lit a fire and poured them some sangria .He could see the tension leaving Nikki as he massaged her shoulders and kissed behind her ear. He whispered " I have special surprise for you baby". When she turned around he was down on one knee holding her diamond engagement ring.

Nikki was in awe over the place and she could truly relax. Loving how caring Jack was. She felt him stop massaging her shoulders, a surprise? Once Nikki turned around she covered her mouth. There he was down on one knee with a ring! She was trying her hardest not to cry. Though without a single doubt, she said yes!

Jack watched the pure joy on her face and it warmed his heart like nothing before. Her hands covered her mouth and she was bouncing on the balls of her feet like a little girl at Christmas. It took a minute for her to realize he needed her hand back to put the ring on. When she gave it to him he slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her hand. Standing to his full height he bent to kiss away some tear drops on her cheek. Pulling her in close they slow danced in little circles in front of the fire place. "I didn't think you could be anymore beautiful until I saw that ring on your finger" As they danced he looked out at the moonlight, it was going to be a perfect night.

Pure joy was all over face with a few tears. Clinging to her man as they danced. "Hun it is beautiful."she said. Nikki gave him a kiss before smiling at him. "I cannot wait to be your wife."she said. Enjoying this moment with him before she smirked. "I do believe we should celebrate."she said. Her hand ran down his body and over his crotch.

He closed his eyes and listened to the crackle of the fire and the soft sounds of wife enjoying his slow cadence of his love moving inside her.
