It IS a contraction of you all, and spelled as you say.

It takes so long to say 'em all, we had to do sumthin!

But I never drag it out into a 2-syllable word. You must be thinkin' of Tennessee.

Their accent makes me sound like a yankee!

Its more sensual for a southern woman to drag her words out It makes guys watch our mouths and what we intend to do next with them dont you think?

Or at least that has been my experience.
