I figured I would share this in here.

I truly appreciate @cheekygirl75 for creating this and for @dawn_of_night (long story....short....my original didn't show. It's okay, not the focus here. Also there is still time.)

I am reminding myself even on what is supposed to be the happiest night of the year. For me its the darkest.....loosing a loved one on Christmas Eve.....regardless of how many years past is not easy.

So when I saw this....the best gifts....it reminded me of what is the spirit of Christmas. I'm seeing all of this being played here in this lit community, making my heart happy.


And if you like a Charlie Brown Christmas.......

Thank you all for the Christmas wishes. This has been one of those up and down years for me, but I know I'm incredibly lucky to have the life I do now. Merry Christmas to all of you.

I'll leave this here. Some of you may remember Matt_Next_Door. He was a good friend to me, and helped me get through some really dark moments. He's gone from here now, but never from my heart. I miss him terribly. He wrote this one year and I like to repost it annually in his memory. So here we are, Matt's version of Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Twas the night before Christmas
when all through Lit
Not a poster was posting,
not even a bit.

Their comments were done
and all neatly posted,
As their families all gathered;
some even toasted.

I was about to sign out;
giving the mouse a good tap
The playground was quiet…
it was time for a nap.

When there on the desk…
arose such a clatter
I spun around in my chair,
to see what’s the matter.

Up to the monitor
I reached in a hurry
It started to glow
though my eyes were still blurry

My face was all covered
with the screen’s eerie glow
The keyboard was fumbled
in the darkness below.

It didn’t take long
for the words to appear
They came from a distance
yet they seemed very near

The message was warm
as I gave a big smile
I read every word…
even stared for a while.

For the message was clear
and very well said
The spirit of Christmas
will never be dead!

It made me remember
just what friendship is,
so I typed a reply
that was off in a whiz.

It makes no difference
if we’re all far away,
If we honor our friendships
and Christmas this day.

So, before I log off
and turn out the light,
Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good night!

Wanderlust got her lovely gift from Scarlett Daisy, so obviously it was a definite NoFail!
While MissRadiant was thrilled with her artsy pic and also her smutty tale.
Chloe_Harper was honored to have a friend who shared a naughty reading choice.
And Tallulah82 rejoiced in the sound of someone’s absolutely wonderful voice.
MnB brought laughter to the crew singing a message of silliness and good cheer.
