Ok... the best way to splain dat one is...

Tonie lives in the mountainous area of NC. Therefore she's part of the group we call "Mountain Folk".

I live at the other end of the state near the coastal area, "flant land". Therefore I'm a Flatlander.


So what do we call the ones that live in betwixed us in the peidmont region? Piedmonters????

Well here in New Jersey.....We are just New Jersey people... Although Jersey City people do have that Joisey accent...

Ah, but bdsm isn't necessarily about pain. There is tickle torture *snickergiggles* And not all activities have to leave marks. For me, feeling the falls of a flogger on my back makes me start to float almost immediately *what we call sub space*. It's not painful, but very erotic and stimulating. As for the power trip....that's debatable. We call it an Exchange of Power. The submissive/slave giving their power over to a Dominant/Master/Mistress who in turn gives their power back to said submissive/slave. Example: When I'm being flogged, I want to do the best I can to ensure that the scene is exciting the Dom I'm playing with for that scene. If He likes responses, I will be more vocal. In turn, the Dom wants to be sure I'm enjoying the scene. So if he knows I like it hard for a few strokes and then the feel of hands on my skin, that's what He gives me. Which in turn makes me want to please Him that much more, which in turn...see what I mean?

I also have a saying that may help. A Dom is someone who is dominant, not domineering.

Same here. Grew up in the midwest, then lived in Denver for a while, then back to the midwest, now in Virginia. Maybe I've picked up a few colloquialisms here and there, but no real accent I'm aware of or been told I have by others.

I do look forward to hearing those Carolina accents, though. Makes the whole trip just a tad more exotic for me. You know? Reminds me I'm not at home.

If I remember right, though, last time I was in Charlotte some years ago, quite a few people didn't have accents 'cause they'd relocated there from somewhere else. Almost growing to be like Atlanta: it's own little metropolitan hodge-podge of America. Is that right?
