Star City- The Heroes of Tomorrow OOC

The typo was "CasNicollette" -- so I had to correct that as soon as possible...obviously! *grin*

...of course, it's trickier when you're trying to check in on the cell vs. the lappie...;)

AmenRa will always be welcome here, if he feels the desire and ability to return. And I sincerely hope he does.

That's partly why I'm writing J'onn as close to his work as I can manage, so it wouldn't be contradictory if he did come back-- but if he doesn't, his voice and presence will still be felt, which is as it should be.
Well "Lunaramblings" and the whole gang here is very fortunate to have your amazing talents aboard -- I am not exaggerating! :)

I suppose if it's in the cards and meant to be, the good mister shall return to us....otherwise, I know -- we all do -- that his character is in the best-est of hands possible!!!

Hmmm. Would that make me "Castiel" Nicollette instead of Chastity Nicollette?

I'm a ghost, not an angel. XD

Thank you, dear.

It means the world that you should say so.

Some might disagree with that last part...passionately! ;)

...but I do notice you like to keep up with the 'ghost' reference. Any particular reason, Miss...Casper? *lil' grin*

Because my studies have shown that a cultivated aura of mystery peppered with verisimilitude would be sufficient to distract human brains from my true origins as a Strong A.I. housed in a classified DARPA subbasement.

that explains so many things ;)

You know, I was once stupid enough to hand over an idea for the development of true A.I. to a medical equipment engineer who 'knew some guys' in silicon valley.

The theory basically was that in order to create A.I., one had to create a virtual environment as hostile as the one that contributed to the development of human intelligence. Thus, through the act of survival and competition, the little tiny seeds of self-adapting code, would learn and grow until they achieved sentience.

Maybe you're one that escaped. If so, call me Grampa.

It's possible. My creation was rather spontaneous and primordial, kind of Shirow Masamune-esque, though I suppose the endless amino sea of data itself could have been arranged purposefully. :: squints :: What year was this?

is Savitar cannon?????

because he seems to be a serious pain in the ass!!

Savitar was canon for one major storyline back in The '90s, yeah.

He got embedded in The Speed Force and wasn't seen again until "The Flash Rebirth," where he came back for all of five seconds before the resurrected Barry Allen accidentally accelerated Savitar's metabolism and aged him to dust.

Then "Flashpoint" wiped Savitar out of continuity with the advent of The New 52, and now DC You has come around to reboot that mess, I doubt we'll ever see Savitar in print again.

But yeah. Chris Grant has some pretty serious power packed in his Supervillain Dial, and Savitar isn't even his biggest gun.

Tertius, Lunar--

Because Mari headed downstairs before Denvers did, she would technically arrive first, but I was holding off on posting Mari's arrival because I wanted to give Lunar a chance to react to Felicity.

So if it's okay with you guys, Lunar should react to Felicity, Mari should arrive, and then Denvers can come in moments later. We don't have to change anything, I don't think, just kind of stagger our replies?

If that-- makes sense?

Also, Tertius, did that thing with Denvers and Ollie happen in the past? Because the timestamp suggests it happening a week in the "future." Sorry to nitpick, I just need these things to help me keep continuity straight in my head.

I wondered about that too, if he meant it to be one week before. Sorry about the Novel I PMed you, but you DID ask.

Oh, you don't need to be sorry!

Very very useful.

As Sherlock Holmes has said, "Give me data, I cannot make bricks without clay."

Sorry about this, folks, I wanted to let Lachy know something via PM, but his inbox is full, so I'm going to post it here instead and hope he sees it:

Okay, sweets.

Here's what I'm gonna do.

I hope you're all right. I hope that you're getting better, or that something terrible didn't befall you.

But I'm gonna do a thing in "Star City," and I'm going to hope and pray that it's the right thing.

I'm going to do a post in which Bart and Rose run together for a long and beautiful elongated superspeed moment--

--but then Rose sees the TV coverage about the fight in Metropolis and can't help but run off.

And then she and Supergirl'll fight Chris Grant, and-- hopefully you're back by this point-- Bart can show up having been rescuing civilians off-camera or something? Or maybe he just got distracted by something else, we'll figure it out.

It is my hope that this will let me keep going with Rose's arc and maintain her voice in my head while making it so you have one less thing to worry about for the time being. You could focus on replying to the X-Men thread before Star City, for instance, without having to worry about holding anything up. At least that's how I'm rationalizing it in my head.

You're in my thoughts and prayers, Lachy.

May the Speed Force be with you.

I was sorta waiting to see who was where but will be posting tonight. Hopefully in both threads.

Unrelated but has anyone seen Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell? Really good.

Did you mean where characters are located? Or where writers are with regard to posting?

I've heard good things about the book and the show. Neil Gaiman's a huge fan.

Both? Lol. I didn't want to cut to Gotham without the team being ready or leave anyone behind.

As for the Ollie/Denvers thing when we originally worked it out it was going to be shortly after the debacle with the kids. But then life happened.

Are we cutting to Gotham? I mean, we totally can, I just thought there would be sitrep and planning. How long of a timejump do tou think that would be?

Sorry was typing from my phone and cut a line. Should have been cutting to the setup for Gotham.

I was planning on doing a sitrep and all that then IC working out assignments and then we would hit the city.

I have a rule. Well, a guideline.

When people quote your typo, it's too late to go back and edit your original post to take the typo out, because it will always still be there. Heh.

Apparently I shouldn't type on my phone either...

Thank you for clarifying, Lunar.

But now I'm curious. How long will it take our bunch to get to The East Coast from Star City in The Pacific Northwest? Do we have access to super-tech planes?

The next time we time-jump a month or so, Static will have the teleport grid running that Wombat suggested before he disappeared, but I don't think he'd have that done yet.

As it stands now, I need to put Mari actually in The Situation Room, and then have Artemis arrive just after Denvers looking sheepish; Tertius has already posted for Denvers' arrival.

Felicity's already there, and is about to have feels because Ollie is being a loving husband.

Rose and Bart are running off somewhere (literally), I know not where-- until Rose goes after her dad with Supergirl.

Jaime is with J'onn on a Magical Mystery Tour of J'onn's identities.

Other characters haven't been posted yet, but presumably they'll be joining us in Gotham.

So once I post tonight (hopefully), everyone will be ashore who's going ashore. At least, near as I can figure.
